Tennessee cuts loose from Common Core

More and more state educators are realizing the utter lack of any real substance in common core, and that they are just drones, spewing out by rote a lesson. The removal of actual teaching, of interacting with students is slowly being rebelled against. If this can cause a groundswell of the other states following suit, then MAYBE this can be deep sixed as it should have been before coming this far.

And an excellent decision it is! There are others here who home school and also will try doing so in the near future. My hat is off to you for thinking of your child first.

While that is a very good step here in my home state - it still doesn't change our decision to homeschool our toddler.

I donate to Hillsdale College because they don't teach that bs. Or take federal money, or taxpayer money or accept any kind of student loans. Fully freely funded. A shining example of what education could be.

What a slow, tedious job this is to UNdo things. Why did they ever let themselves be bought in the first place? I hope this trend catches fire though, it needs to be stopped. But then again, so do public schools altogether. Liberal colleges spitting out more and more liberal teachers.
