"We wonder: how long until Americans finally realize they have had enough, and proceed to inform the IRS they have systematically 'lost' all W-2 and 1099 statements sent to them in the last several years as well..."

Plus, these server farms on which the e-mails are stored (and by law are required to be stored) are backed up in several layers. Usually daily, weekly, monthly with copies being held for overlapping periods. If a storage device had ever failed, the most that should ever have been lost would be on day.

The fact that they claim such a long period points to conspiracy to subvert justice. Unfortunately, this justice dpt will never pursue and they will never appoint a special prosecutor.

Issa may have subpoena power, but he cannot make someone talk without the coercive power to put them in jail (and even then, they might not be compelled). And on the other side of that equation is an unlimited ability for the P to provide a pardon - and don't think that he wouldn't. My personal opinion is that Lerner already has one (as do all other admin officials) it just hasn't been disclosed. That's why her lawyer made overtures to Issa that she was willing to talk, and then clammed up - she was bought off.

That is what we need. I don't have enough money to make it happen, and I don't like fundraising.

Just what we need...someone to take it from the ruling class and return it to the people.

That's a bingo...it doesn't appear that anyone on this thread is kidding themselves about this being a Democrat thing. It occurs to me that the reason this most heinous of the Obama Administration crimes keeps falling off the radar is that many on the right want to maintain this power so that is there when they get back control.
    Thankfully Issa hasn't given up.

The hard drive doesn't matter. Emails aren't "stored" there in the first place.

The "fact" that the hard drive has been "recycled" is the dumbest excuse I've ever heard.

I email pdfs of my own tax returns to three different email accounts just in case my hard drive fails and I lose the files.

I'm not at all concerned about "losing" the emails.

This is the perfect time for a candidate to emerge in favor of either Neal Boortz's "fair tax" or the "flat tax". Why hasn't there been such a movement recently?

Such a movement won't come from Washington. You are exactly right about that. However, a serious Tea Party or Objectivist or Libertarian candidate should be emerging.

    SImple,

    Washington doesn't want one.

They can't reward their friends and punish their enemies as effectively if they can't tweak the tax code or the enforcers properly.
