on your #2, by definition the powerful ones are not the majority. The polls show more voters (the majority) are switching from Hillary to johnson not from Trump to Johnson.

This is a completely bogus argument on at least two counts.
1) in a representative democracy voting for any candidate other than the one that most represents your own views throws a monkey wrench into the works;
2) The majority of the Johnson converts, especially the very public and politically powerful ones, are Republicans.

As long as it doesn't help coughiltery.
