Aspasia of Miletus: Bringing Philosophy to Athens

We call it the "Socratic method" but in their time, it was called "The Milesian Way." Apsasia brought logic and philosophy to Athens. Socrates was one of the men who came for symposia at her home. Like Anaxagoras - who found a meteoroite and reasoned that the sun is a hot rock - she was associated with Pericles. Like Anaxagoras, also, she was tried for impiety. Classical Athens was NOT friendly to philosophy.
