- 2Posted by $ AJAshinoff 12 years, 10 months agoAs long as we bind into societies some form of rights submission will always be. The natural right, those endowed by our Creator, are the bedrock which should, by the Constitution of the United States of America, be respected and revered by our people and, by election, our government. Those elected who willfully act contrary to Constitution or in a way to deconstruct its framework should be thrown from office and tried for treason.| Mark as read | Parent | Best of... | Permalink

- 1Posted by $ Genez 12 years, 10 months agoThe problem today is that the vast majority of people educated in the government school systems believe that the governments authority comes from some innate quality of government. They believe that because there is all the bureaucracy, laws and personnel to implement them that the government has authority by some sort of 'right'. They do not understand the concept of government 'by and for' the people. The people set up a system merely to help protect natural rights, and as a way to deal with foreign nations. You must have a 'government' or speaking body that can speak for the interests of the nation/people as a whole. But people today think that government is there to take care of them and provide for them if they can't provide for themselves. This is a radically different view of government than that of "from the consent of the governed". The government is seen as a 'parent' organization that is there to ensure that everyone is treated fairly, provided for equally, etc and so on. This is exactly the form of government that Ayn Rand feared and that was shown in Atlas Shrugged.| Mark as read | Best of... | Permalink
