Porker of the Month

Citizens Against Government Waste (CAGW) has named Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) Porker of the Month for playing a leading role in the effort to create “debt-free college” for all students, which would in fact dramatically worsen the student loan crisis. Student loan debt hit an all-time high of $1.26 trillion earlier this year. The average new college graduate now owes more than $37,000 – more than double the amount owed in the early 1990s. Over the past three decades, tuition costs have increased 153 percent for private colleges and 231 percent for public colleges, faster than the costs of food and healthcare. The cause of this dramatic increase is simple: increased federal subsidies. Over the past decade, there has been a 69 percent increase in students’ borrowing from federal loan programs. This increase in student access to credit has enabled colleges to continue to hike prices, requiring even more borrowing. Sen. Schumer proposes to make the problem even worse with S. 2677, the In the Red Act, which would increase federal subsidies, increase student loan borrowing, and saddle future generations with even more debt. For his lack of understanding of the student loan bubble and his efforts to inflate it even further, Sen. Schumer is the August Porker of the Month.
It is so much easier to understand within the smaller scope of the college economy, you would think even a politician could see it!
Devalue the dollar, devalue education, soon everyone gets an A or just eliminate comprehension.
Particularly when the profs teach for free.
I call them both malignant tumors killing the constitution.
Why not simply boycott the colleges?-The young
people can't love school all that much, that they would put themselves through all that much torment in order to go. I know I didn't; I wasn't going to be conned into going. And from what I
understand, it isn't doing them all that much good when they go look for a job. So why not
just have a nationwide boycott, and then the
colleges would have to climb down off their high
horse and cut the crap.
Education is a life long endeavor, the mealy mouthed liberal professors I experienced weren't worth 2 cents. I know that isn't true for all. I decided to go my own way.
Home most his friends still live at home looking for a job that has been eliminated by gov regs over last 25 yrs or their lifespan.
2008 the country went bankrupt call it what you will. Followed quickly massive inflation followed by devaluation of the worth of the money. Around 30% or more. So the $2.00 they are spending today is $2.60 in 1999 terms Gas is now 2.6 times and was 5.2 times as costly at the peak. (rough figures mind you.)
Next step debt repudiation this is where the bill is presented and the government refuses to pay. Who did pay someone always pays. Not the T BIll investors government can't afford to dump on them instead they juggled the COLA figures. increases of zero to 1.5 % per annum compared to a 2008 loss of 30% plus more since then. But that wasn't counted in COLA
So the debt owed was to the retirees, the elderly, and the unfunded retirement programs - the military. Military now has one fifth of it's people on welfare for food stamps etc. That's who pays. What's next.
That 2008 spending spree of Obamas but started by Bush is coming due? T bills etc. People like Clinton and Sanders want to raise spending on things like college funding. The idea of stop spending is not ont the table. Next go round inflation with another 10 trillion debt, devaluation and debt repudiation. One outcome is Europe is bailing on the TPPP whatever trade deal
. Meanwhile if stories are correct we're going under the Paris ECology program with China BUT China knows it's an illegal treaty. Senate didn't pass it nor vote on it. So there has to be as side deal. Our money is no good so what is the payment? No interference in the South China Sea. Who knows?
But what ever this administration has proved it can't be trusted to handle foreign affairs nor the economy. Meanwhile pump billions more into institutes that don't do their job but demand higher salaries and build big stadiums and hire million a year coaches. Education isn't about education it's prime purpose is Saturday entertainment to feed the TV Channels and the advertisers.
Joe Schmo on his own and his brother Bubba Schmo a union member demand higher salaries . they need the money to buy $15 hamburgers. that in 1999 were 99 cents.
Minimum wage goes to $30 an hour. National Debt goes to 30 trillion but the GDP has no NDP available to service the debt load. Who pays
Same one's take another hit by the same route. Thee reitrement in 1999 dollars is now worth....about five cents So the teachers demand a raise again and tuition goes uip again. But this time or the next time there is no money to be found and not even US Citizens will accept US Dollars.
as for the money owed to the government it will never be repaid because those who borrowed it will never have employment available to them to earn the money to pay back the loans just like the devaluing of the education and money in the country the GOVERNMENT has effectively devalued the idea of work as well as causing so much of the businesses to close that the loanees willl continue to receive welfare.
50/50 shrug ......"who is John Galt"?
Hey Schumer ,Your stupid contingency wants free school loans. I want free and uncorrupt congressmen.
Think about it. The only any kind of free politician is one who is not corrupt.
Shillary is not free. If elected, she will become the best president money can bribe in the eyes of all the foreign and domestic slimeballs who enslaved her with prepaid favors.
Corruption takes other forms. Progressives are slaves who create slaves with their corrupt enforced PC-compliant philosophy.
And take the manmade global warming/climate change scam--PLEASE!
Tee-hee! Old dino just made a funny.
