Boost your Energy to Change your Lifestyle

How many times have you felt like you wish you could have 10 to 20 years back to make up for all the stuff you wish you would have done then? What if you can?
Today, more people are making it into their 80’s and 90’s than ever before. How you live those years is up to you.
Here are some tips to feel better and live longer, more energetic lives.
1. Resistance Weights: Heavy weight for short time
Resistance training (weight lifting) is an excellent way to send messages to your brain saying, “I’m not done yet, I’ve still got some fight left in me”. Done daily for 10-30 minutes, resistance training can make all the difference.
2. Deep Sleep: 8 hours/day:
“Beauty Sleep” is no joke. Your body has to rest and repair daily regardless of whether you feel sleepy or not. Don’t skimp on this.
a. NO exercise 2 hours before bed
b. NO eating 2 hours before bed
c. NO caffeine in the afternoon or evening
d. Good Sleep; more HGH produce in the 1st hour (REM)
3. Nutrition
a. GOAL
4. The right Amino Acids make all the difference
G lycine: Builds Muscle, Promotes Sleep, Store Energy
O rnithine: Contributes Energy
A rginine: Regulate BP, Metabolize fat
L ysine: turns fat into energy

a. Eggs, Fish, Poultry
c. Supplements:
i. Astragalus (200mg 2Xday)
ii. Brewer’s Yeast (1-2 tablespoons per day on food)
iii. Papaya Juice (8 oz. in the morning every day)
iv. Brazil Nuts (1-2 b/w meals)
v. Fenugreek (Natural HGH Booster): Early studies show that this vegetable, popular in Asia, stimulates the release of growth hormone and can boost energy levels. Steam fenugreek herbs or enjoy as a tea.

Human growth hormone (HGH) plays a vital role in staying young, long after you’ve finished growing. HGH is a product of the pituitary gland, the master gland of the body. As the name implies, it promotes linear growth in children and adolescents. After the body stops growing taller, levels of HGH decline and often become very low in adult life.

HGH has effects on body composition, not just growth; it also plays an important role in metabolism. It first begins to decline at age 30, and decreases by 2% every year after that. When you don’t have enough growth hormone, you may experience an increase in belly fat, sagging skin and a decrease in muscle mass. The goal is to keep your HGH at an optimum level as you age so you can retain youthfulness as late into life as possible.

Perhaps the best arguments on this among rational people take place on the "Rebirth of Reason" website among Bill Dwyer, Ed Thompson, and others. I have long been a customer of "Durk Pearson and Sandy Shaw" libertarians known for the two books "Life Extension: A Practical Scientific Approach" and their mail order business which they bought back in 1973 from science fiction fandom impressio and rancanteur Erwin "Filthy Pierre" Strauss, who was expelled for a year from MIT for contracting a Hong Kong publisher to reproduce textbooks. Anyway... LIVE LONG AND PROSPER, as the Vulcan say...

      WHAT are you talking about?
I'm not selling anything, I'm simply using my knowledge and talent to provide information for whomever wants it.

Well, there is a lot of "knowledge" out there. And we all want to live better and longer.

Brazil nuts may not be all that good for you. Too much sleep is a killer and 8 hours may be "binge sleeping." Aerobic exercise 20 minutes a day three times a week is plenty unless you just like doing it just for fun, which it can be, even though the "health benefits" may not be measurable. Have you heard about a "Alkaline Diet"? Blood acidity relates to bone loss. Fenugreek is great stuff if you like it. It is important in Mediterranean cooking. On and on and on.

It is nice of you to freely share your hard-earned knowledge, but do you have any studies to support your opinions? And the problem with studies is that they are STATISTICAL reports, and we are INDIVIDUALS.

What is good for 90% might not be good for you. Having your own blood work, etc., done is important and despite the looming threat of Obamacare (or perhaps because of it) your town might have one or more clinics that sell "Any Test Any Time." You need to know yourself. Individualism is not just a political theory. In your body, no two hemoglobin molecules are identical. Identical twins have different fingerprints.

Myself, I go for lots of vegetables, few fruits, protein from fish and chicken with some beef; mix and match as desired. I also take a lot of vitamins. But that's me. I am not you.

I only point out that these debates and discussions are old hat among health nuts of all kinds and I tend to find other Objectivists to be more reasonable about the same things that I am.

On the "Rebirth of Reason" site, the active posters on nutrition topics argue these points out, citing facts about metabolism, studies of mice, and all the rest. Ed Thompson, in particular, was working on a master's in nursing before he changed career paths.

"Durk and Sandy" are well-known in libertarian circles and to "olde tyme" Objectivists; but you do not need to buy their products to read their books and visit their website.
