Google Earth Pro used to cost $400 a year - here’s how to get it for free
Well, if you ever need to do some of the things Google Earth doesn't do (like easily calculate a land area), here is how to get it free, or you could pay 400. I am not sure if they still have a license fee, but it seems like a good deal.

Can you use it with tor? If so you should probably register with google maps under a dedicated name for that use so the rest of your data can't be compromised via the google map program internally. Tor only blocks sharing of data by the firefox browser, depending on what plugins you use.
It's easy to install and run, but you should read the basic descriptions at the website to understand what it is doing and how to ensure your security by not introducing extraneous elements that can break it.
The only data accessible by Google to connect your searches with you would be through the installation of the map program on your pc so it would be up to you use it in a secure user account (not administrator), etc. It also depends on how devious they are willing to be to put effort into breaking privacy beyond the routine browser violations like tracking cookies (which don't work with tor).
