“We must stop thinking...”

The full quote is,

“We must stop thinking of the individual and start thinking about what is best for society.”
- Hilary Clinton

To stop thinking, we need to evade reality. Then we can all agree that divining what is best for society can't be individually decided by all those people within society – For this would allow individuals voluntary choice to collaborate or not. No, such decisions would require some nebulous super group think mind that is more than willing to use any means necessary to achieve its glorious ends. It is then about effectively utilizing the psychological and physical tools of terror to compel mass sacrifice for the greater goodness of the social welfare, where more and more individuals in society would be continuously pulled down until the goals of fairness and equality are executed.

- back to thinking -
In this world village above who do you think would rule well above the rest?
Hint: Her initials are H.C.

What I meant by that is why give the left too much advanced notice when you are not in the ring yet? If Americans are going to keep doing drugs, would it not be better to make Americans rich instead of sending billions of dollars to Mexico??? As far as the illegals go, the moment they step on American soil they become criminals as they are breaking our laws. There is no excuse for me. It is a black and white issue. Is it right to give them priority over the people going though the system?

How will we know...enough people haven't noticed on either account.... yet. And I'm not holding my breath..(well, actually I will have to to survive, but I'm not holding it while waiting for them to notice.) :)

What if enough people had recognized that the Titanic was sinkable before they hit the iceberg? Would the captain have still overloaded the ship and yelled, "Full speed ahead?"

Yep... and the life preservers I have are for me and mine ONLY.
I sure hope the boat gets rocked quick like, it may be the only thing that can save us.

Sometimes I wonder if Atlas Shrugged has been more helpful as a guide for rational people on what to avoid or irrational people on what crazy agendas to push?

I have been appalled at the speed this country has gone down--Ayn used the foreshortening of her timeline to keep the book moving, but it turned out to be fact. She called it right down the line to the point where the citizens fear to say anything at all--immediate cries of "Racist!" or "Heartless" pile onto the offender. Yet, like the book, those very screamers are the ones with no heart, who are deeply racist, who want us all under a boot.

But being quiet about your principles to keep from getting attacked by the left DOES NOT WORK. We are STARVING for real men who speak their minds with conviction and can back it with a logical arguments. ROCK THE BOAT ALREADY!!!
As for stopping drugs from coming over the boarder is not a swap for believing in freedom of choice so long as it's not hurting anyone else. But I do believe West would make that a priority, closing the boarder...but I want to hear his plan for doing so, how, when, and by who will this get accomplished. Also, identity fraud arrests for illegals using ssn of Americans to ANY purpose. Deportations.

Political correctness has helped beat this country into silence... fear of offending so they say nothing unless they think it's the correct emotionally based thing to say so show they are a 'good person'. I'm sick of it! They've lost all reason....and this is where it's gotten us.

Yes, those of us who are informed indeed have a right to complain...the louder the better. Last election I was in here arguing that if we got bo out of office at least we'd have more time with Romney to turn people around... I was wrong to argue that. There are many people to wake up and I've learned if they are even capable of waking up and helping to save their country they won't do it until the water reaches THEIR nostrils and THEY fear drowning..... the dam has a severe leak, they won't listen to reason and warnings, so let them get wet. Maybe they'll listen to that.

    HUZZAH!
Those who are so inclined [I'm SO avoiding "we ought"] should say this more, and louder, and defy anyone present to even make an argument that holds together against it.
Let's take it back to first principles, and make people discuss the issue THERE.

Why is it so hard for those on the left to understand border security? A free and open society has the right and the obligation to protect itself if it is to remain a beacon for the rest of this dark world. Drugs in bulk and now children in bulk pouring over the border are no good for any of us, nor for those children being used as political pawns.

I agree with you on the West/Carson ticket. If Carson is not sure on gun control, I think it may be because he don't want to rock the boat and give the left ammunition. As far as West and the war on drugs, I think he will first really secure our border which will in itself curtail drugs coming over the border.

This is one reason I am glad to be in the Gulch. I am still learning, even at age 65, and I welcome comments that help me to clarify my thoughts. I had reached the same conclusion about the coming elections--I will not vote for either side of the same coin. Last time, I used the rationalization that if I didn't vote, I had no right to complain--this time, I KNOW I have every right to complain.

That comment by Ms. Clinton is just about everything you need to know about her and the attitude of the left. From childhood to elderly, we are taught how self sacrifice should be our aim and It works - if you're an ant.
