This is not desecrating the U.S flag. It may be dumb to do and it may be disrespect, but it is not desecrating. To me desecration is burning the flag, throwing it on the ground and stomping on it various things like that. Flying it upside down is a sign of distress, and need help. Flying it under the Chineese flag is , I take, a sign of disgust with the us government. Not a real bright thing to do given todays polarized society but again not desecration.
