Google, for instance, Operation Mockingbird, the CIA infiltration, that goes back to the late 1940s. As for FoxNews, I think Murdoch's operations are a mouthpiece for neoconservatives and the intelligence community's "point of view." Now that Fox owns the WSJ, its editorial page has stridently defended every proposed foreign intervention and the entirety of our government's surveillance apparatus. One would think a news organization might be somewhat discomfited by the Snowden revelations, but the WSJ has voiced no qualms or apprehension that the architecture in place might somehow be misused by the government, although such misuse has already occurred.
