Thanks for the heads-up, straightlinelogic. I spent a couple of hours yesterday talking with my research partner at an aluminum manufacturer. I am sure his company would like to know about this. I just finished the part of your book where Durand is considering moving to NY.
That would make things particularly enjoyable, because the earlier parts regarding Civil War history and anything about Rockefeller are two of my favorite topics outside my professional expertise. Rockefeller invented chemical engineering, my field.
Good morning straightlinelogic, This is very interesting. If I am understanding the article correctly, aside from the market reaction, it sounds like I could benefit, at least in the short term if I stock up once prices come down. I use a lot of copper based alloys and even more Aluminum. Regards, O.A.
Thank you for bringing this to our attention. I will have to be vigilant and move quickly. I am going to speak with a couple of my suppliers so they can give me notice.
For continuing information, I recommend the http://zerohedge.com. It has a take on markets and politics you don't get in the mainstream press, and it is often miles ahead of stories that later break there. (It was talking about high frequency trading years before Michael Lewis's book was published.)
