If it wasn't for Judicial Watch, no one would be oursuing this, and yet they have proof that the Justice Department and IRS targeted the Obamanations political opponents. Isn't that illegal? And the sheeple want 8 more years of this? Like hitting yourself with a 2x4, and going to buy another when that one breaks....

What is becoming more glaringly obvious is that there is definitely an elite in this country that consider themselves above the law. The reason they do not see this lawless behavior for the criminal activity that it is, is because they believe they serve the higher purpose of advancing civilization, and deserve rewards obtained by any means as justifiable. That other people may suffer injustice is considered just so much broken china on the way to a glorious, perfected future.

Modernism, that belief that the human race is naturally evolving to a state of rational perfection, also blinds the elite to the fact that rational states have existed before, only to be blown away by fanatic tribalism. The elites naively believe that radical Islam is an aberration on the inevitable path to a rational, civilized state, rather than a real competitor on the road to a Utopian end.

Both our own Modernists and the Islamists faithfully believe that the end state will consist of a world population homogeneous in its beliefs and its obedience to the state (or caliphate). Both are the enemy of individual liberty and self-determination.

This means that we do not have a tax system (which people should have known), we have an arbitrary system to punish the politically disenfranchised.

And yet Republicans think immigration is more important.

Dale, good point, and one your rarely hear. I see it as a systemic solution to both stealing as much as they can, as well as a tool for power manipulation. A flat tax system or consumption tax would eliminate all of that, which is probably a prime reason it has not happened. Not to mention the lobbyist for accountants and tax companies. Hard to eliminate a donating cottage industry..

I actually think the proposal to eliminate the whole tax code for a year makes the most sense. Then you do not start from a flawed system

Now that is the missing key I've been looking for. My fear of the fair tax was implementing it without repealing the income tax and ending up with both.

Has to be something like Amendment takes effect Dec 31st 2400 hours Eastern Standard Time at which time the following will be eliminated, must address state income taxes are or are not included under the federal ruling which should be self evident then.....
End user consumption tax wll become effective 0001 hours January1st stipulating what rules are to be followed, any exemptions such as Right To Life and the division or split if states are included and a host of other subjects. Even decidiing if it requires an amendment? It may be complex but it isn't simple. And if it were it would and will be made to look that way.

          DB's thought is completely correct.

The question will be how is government funded for the interim year. What technical infrastructure is needed to to imiplement the new system and who pays for it? I would hire the VISA and MC folks for a start and figure out how to do without the tax income from lawn sales and similar. Just a thought.

That would mean a whole new round of borrowing for the looters to keep funding themselves from. Or a special 1 time levy of 5% on all gross income? Something to bridge with. My problem is they would dawdle for the year, then say they need another..and another..especially if they had better luck with the levy.

So the IRS officials knew about stuff going on.
When me dino was but a simple state corrections officer, I knew what stuff prison inmates were doing when I was the one who ordered them to do that same said stuff in the first place.
A day room would not be swept or a shower floor scrubbed unless I assigned someone to do it. Police up the yard. Roll that garbage cart to the back gate, etc., etc..
Yep, funny how I always knew what was going on when I ordered it. Yes-siree bob by cracky! Wonders never cease.

I think that they've gone through several 2X4s already.
I decided to try an experiment this year I argued with several of my relatively rational Democrat cousins (something I rarely do) to see what would happen. I countered every propaganda, talking points, and outright lies with the truth, even forwarding several postings from the Gulch. Not one single time did they counter anything I put forth, because they couldn't. What do you think happened? Nothing. So...fellow Gulchers, when countering committed lefties with truth and rationality save your breath, and go build something with those 2X4s.

Because the Lefties are not interested in truth. They are like vicious little children, putting up a tantrum fit whenever they want something. It makes no difference that others will be hurt, or even that eventually they'll pay the price - I want it now, and everyone else be damned! Other than that, they can be wonderful people...

The persons who are usually most hurt are the very persons they claim to be helping. Talk about insanity. Where are you, Albert now that we need you?

That is because they "claim" to be helping them. They are not helping others, nor do they really want to help them. They are helping themselves - to be able to pat themselves on the back for their good feelings, while feeding at the government troth on stolen goodies. Now that feels good, doesn't it?

Exactly, and it goes down sow well, just watch Watters, he specializes in asking questions like that. I saw a special where he said that he does not have to stage or set anything up, they come to him in droves, he has a hard time editing it for the best, due to the abundance of material.

I am sure it does, the sad thing is when mainstream media reports it, and there are a significant number of people who either don't care or who say "they deserved it" and see nothing wrong. No moral or ethical structure to be found...

That is why citizens must seek out ways to INFORM THEMSELVES and then DEMAND better from our government. It's all our responsibility.

I know of a woman demanding (on Change, org) they allow her adopted son back in. Evidently he is a British citizen and they refused to give him another visa, she has been trying to get a meeting with Sam Brownbeck for 6 months. Started off positive...now is VERY negative, as he promised it, and is now ignoring her. Demanding only works when your elected representatives represent you. Not a party, not a president. Part of the problem...

            Hi Nick,
Instrongly suspect there is more to this soman's story than she might be telling. Regardless, imo, it is still up to citizens to be informed and involved. Frankly, if one is unable to at least name the current president and vp, they should not be allowed to vote, or their votes should be discounted by half.

No argument, as far as an infrormed voter base goes, that went with printed newspapers. The internet introduced such a different ability to skew things in 30 seconds, you actually have to know you are being lied to, and go find the truth, and facts. People are too lazy and busy looking for Pokemon to do that. Hence, we get HillaryBeast in all her corrupt glory. Free, Free, Free here we come! Until the bill is die.

Precedents set tend to have a long life. What these people who mentally are ok with , the end justifying the means don't seem to understand
Is that what goes around comes around.
Freedom of speech and expression under attack
By our own leaders. Lawbreaking sanctioned from the top of justice department. We are all being screwed.

The issue. People think one thing is an aberration and won't come back. We have seen innumerable times criminal, and plainly wrong, activity has been allowed and endorsed by the current regime. I do not know if Trump is any better, nor do I see any other choice. I would love the black sheriff Clarke from Wisconsin. He at least seems honest and in touch with reality. Then...so did Ben Carson...

I liked Ben Carson as well, I didn't agree with all of his views but I think he is an honest Person who understands the importance of a good education and how making oneself employable is the answer to poverty. He also would not shred the constitution for his own personal agenda.
He didn't stand a chance with today's populace not edgy enough , he didn't blame the privileged white man. He felt the wealthy were already footing most of the tax bills and should be applauded for that verses being vilified.
Don't know enough about him to comment.

Is he the sheriff who ripped the idiot reporters
About his access because he was consoling a man who's very young child was killed by stray bullet?
If so I would take him over the current choices in a heart beat.

I am not sure of the child case thing, but he is on Fox a lot and he is usually in the front of any race related news. He is also their counter Hillary artillery, as he does not hold back. I have not yet found one thing he has said I can even disagree with, so he would be a hands down "vote for".
Ben was a disappointment, he had all the good points, logical and careful, then in the Primaries he rolled off the road with his religious views and wanted to talk creationism. I do not want to know any politicians religious beliefs, unless he is satanic or something (and just because my perception is they do not have it in their book to be nice), and certainly cannot equate a scientific medical mind with something with little to no factual data to support it. Seemed like a split personality at that point. Very disappointing....

This was clearly true the first time around, and nothing happened...the media washed over it, and interest waned. This event, Obama's executive orders, Hillary's e-mail crime and the Clinton Foundation's funding are so much evidence of totalitarianism it shocks me to imagine. However, we go blissfully along. This is going to get very, very bad before another messy revolution happens, and a new center of freedom emerges.

My suggestion forget the wood stick your head under a brick making machine and let it thump iyou 2000 times an hour. he bricks don't break just your head. Bricks and 2x4s are valuable. especiall 2x4s they aren't made anymore. 1 3/4 x 3 3/4 GRIN

They have always been that size since I have used them, the only true 2x4 was a rough cut. But I see your point...:)

When I worked in the sawmill between high school and college we did the usual lengthwise cuts then different sizes dependng on the size of the trunk and it's shape AND the current demand for orders. Finally the cross cuts did the lengths. The planers took off 1/8 so they ecame 1 and 7//8 by 3 7/8ths. These days they are more like 1 3/4 by 3 3/4. Reason given is to match them to metric sizes. But we still call them two by fours. Rough cuts were oftgen used in some interior framing though they might have been lightly planed. for strength if nothing else. If the final pieces left over were large enough the became broom and mop handle stock and went to a machine that made exactly that If not long enough they went to fire wood if large enough All tht happened along a conveyeor belt that went to the wigwam burners. One reason why frost never bothered our orchards. (partly true) Later chip board and wafer solved the burning problem.

What happened to unused sawdust. Some grew asparagus. Or it was piled up and left. If you are in the vicinitas you can see the results. About 3 miles south of O'Brien Oregon on Hwy 199 the Redwood Highway which connects I-5 to Hwy 101 and Crescent City on the west side is a nice housing area with a small lake in the center. Tht was the old mill pond. The houses were built on small hills behind and around the pond ...the old sawdust. The mill it'self was dismantled and sent eithrer to Costa rica or Russia and eastern Siberia - a lot of our mills went to those two countries.

Wow. Nice. We pay 40.00 a full box pickup load now, when we can get it dry for stalls. They just closed a Cedar Mill in Corvallis as well. It's still dying...

Some of the logging trucks had their own pickers and could self load. often bringing down the scrub oak and madrone and selling it on an end of the day run. Stacked in the driveway my weekend work was the chain saw, a rented splitter, wedges and sledges. Typically we would beworking on wood to be burned two winters later. Back then a load was a $100 and produced enough cords to last a winter. May not even be available now at any price.

No, at least in my area, oak is a premium at 200/cord, alder and fir for 150 a cord. My wife wants to go from pellets to wood and I keep teller her she is insane. Just handling the wood is a huge effort and the pellets are a lot more efficient.

Full or face cord? Pellets also require electricity to run the feed augur. Fir for the loggers, pine for kindling, madrone to get the fire burning hot with coals and oak for banking the heat. Our parents were also depression era and know what's going to be like under the thumb of the city dwellers. Reverse time machine. Ilois waiting to be meat,, Morlocks led by the Hag .

I believe the term is full, I used to know the measurements. Pellets work because overall a bag will last 24 hours, so I go through about 2 pallets a year, at 260.00 so it is equal to 3-4 cords, which I never got that kind of mileage out of. A lot easier to maintain, mostly electronic and I am a master of it now, so I can always fall back on it as a job.

and get a generator for just in case. When I lived there wer would get hit really hard about once every ten or so years, that's the weather cycle. All the newbies from california thought having an Oregon address made them woodsmen. My new neighbor had the pellet stove. After that storm he had the generator and some emergency heaters and so forth. I recommended thick stocks sleeping bags and quilts. Very fuel efficient.

Would have been hilarious if it wasn't so funny.

We would take care packages to the newbies. Jugs of water, Top Ramen about $2 a case back then, candles and matches. It would have been hilarious if it wasn't so funny. Did you know that the word Carhartts on it's own will not keep your warm? ha ha ha

They also learned about 4WD manual, chains and winches. One wanted to mount a winch on his Nissan Pathfinder. No! Give it to the wife and buy a real pickmeuptruck . don't forget a bag of sand and a shovel and a flashlight and jug of water with a case of ramen in the car.

"Do NOT forget the gun rack!"

                    "What for?"

"racking guns of course but even if you don't have one others folks don't know and assume you are packing.

In the end they californicated Oregon anyway. There's just no helping some folks.

So tired of the tax wars I heard Florida had a homestead deal (which is true for certain pieces of land) and moved. Then i learned about hurricanes

Well, I learned after a storm in 99 or 2000 gave us 10" of snow, lines down, and idiot California neighbor driving over them. I was melting snow for horses. I got 3 generators, one runs well, and one for house, and backup. I also got a "roof rake" for snow. I have 2 plugs wired through wall so I plug in generator on one side and power in house. Next home will have standby unit.
