"I’m sad. Detroit is my native city. It’s decline from being arguably the world’s richest city to being America’s “first Third Word city” is tragic, politically criminal, and a warning to other Americans."

Detroit is probably a union town, and it would break my heart if the AS 3 production crews were unionized.... ;-(

Glad you liked it. My sons have a tendency to groan at my "funnies"...It's nice to be appreciated.

    Hello Mr. Desapio,
It is sad, and it is a microcosm of what is to follow.
It is "The Shapes of Things to Come."

Don't be too sad. They did it to themselves and at least you escaped in time. I, on the other hand, must still deal with Detroit looking like a war torn neighbor nearby to the south, with one of the highest rates of criminality to be found...
    Regards,
    O.A.

How ironic. Detroit is the twentieth century motor city. Just in time for AS part III.

In 1960 Detroit was a good example to the world.
Today it is a bad example to the world.

I remember when Detroit was a vibrant, beautiful city, and its present state saddens me, as well. It also scares me to death whenever I think about Chicago, my hometown and where I live. Can't help but think that we're next. Texas, here I come (if you'll have me)

Excellent article. I forwarded it, including to some who still don't see that the Taggart Bridge is out and the Comet is still full throttle headed straight for it.
