My "augh" with the issue is that they conclude that it's society to blame why women don't go into IT, rather than... hey, maybe women just don't *want* to go into IT?
Today, there are women working driving taxis, trains, and 100-ton payload heavy haul trucks. They did have to study for the licenses and tickets, apply for the job, not just complain.
Any such unbalance would be -except in very rare instances- not a matter of physique, intellect, or aptitude but due to attitude, more so in those who give advice than in women themselves.
