11 Million Illegals Pay $11.6 Billion in Taxes so - We're All Good, Right?
Last month the Institute on Taxation and Economic Policy released a report stating as fact each of the 11 million illegals the Obama Administration says is in the US pays, on average, $1,050 in income, excise and sales taxes each year so, (in a paragraph spilling over with moralisms and shaming) they're a net positive to the economy. Shazam! (as Gomer used to say).
National Public Radio says on average we spend $10,615 per year educating each public school student. The PEW Center says 6.9% of all K-12 public school students are children of illegal aliens. The Department of Education says there are 50.1 million K-12 public school students.
Blue Cross says the average emergency room visit costs $1,233. How many illegal aliens visit emergency rooms each year? We don't know because the Administration won't tell us however, the American College of Emergency Room Physicians unwittingly or, perhaps wittingly told us: "Many hospitals are concerned that the U.S. government will cut money — about $20 billion annually — used to pay for emergency care for undocumented immigrants — mostly in poor urban and rural areas. The Vera Institute says the average (39 state) annual cost of incarcerating a prisoner is $31,286 and, while the Department of Homeland Security hasn't made illegal alien prisoner statistics available for most of the current Administration's tenure, in 2010 the DHS said the average illegal alien population in State and County prisons and jails exceeded 300,000 and, exceeded 73,000 in Federal prisons. (Estimates from Bush Administration years had the illegal alien prisoner population as much as 100,000 higher.)
Multiply the number of children of illegal aliens in the public schools (3,457,000) by the average cost per student ($10,615) and you get $36.7 billion.
Multiply the minimum number of illegal aliens in prison (373,000) by the average annual cost ($31,286) and you get $11.7 billion.
Accept the ACERP estimate of Federal payouts for emergency room care (not state or local or uncompensated care) for illegal aliens and you get at least $20 billion.
Add together just these three ways in which illegal aliens burden us and you get a total of $68.4 billion.

The city promptly declared itself a sanctuary city and they all came back. 48% of Tulsa's school taxes are being absorbed by the children of illegal aliens. Oklahoma's public schools rank 49th out of 50 in student performance and Tulsa's public schools rank lowest in the state. Do you imagine the flood of illegal immigrants that has poured into Tulsa in the past decade hasn't hurt the education received by the children of legal, taxpaying citizens?
I realize many of you are philosophically no-borders people but, unless you're complete fools you also realize Ayn Rand expected people to pull their weight so, in our less than ideal world, no-borders can't work.

If the school districts and for that matter hospitals and clincs are required to provide services why is that bill not passed to the government level that is requiring such service? if it's the schools and medical facilities themselves then how much of the tax bill to run those operations is being added to the bills and taxes paid by legal citizens?
Seriously why are the schools and so forth not dunning the federal government and why is the federal government not billing the home country. Easy to do. Subtract from foriegn aid, add to imports as a 'tariff' all sorts of ways to regain those costs and then pay it to the schools or hospitals or clinics that incur the costs.
Nope easier to screw over the legal citizens. Starting to sound like conspiracy to defraud.

As for the smaller amount of taxes -- they can't get back the amounts they pay into Social Security and Medicare while illegally here, even after they're legalized.
iLeaving aside the intentinally bent on illegal activities other than illegal entry because they deserve zero concern and maximum effort to apprehend and eject think about those who are concerned with finding a better life for themselvces and there families. No problem with forced tubal ligation and vasectomy. No problem with putting them to work on chain gangs and if paid have it garnished to feed their responsibiities. Whose losing? Those wages are are artifically raised in the case of the minimum wage and artifically lowered in the case of the illegals.
If that didn't happen the wages and costs would find their own levels even if foreign labor and goods were imported. If no one wanted to chop cotton someone would invent a machine to do it for them. etc. etc. etc.
In the long run and add in the extra cost of government that always results from their own tinkering with and fettering of the system adds an extra drag on the economy.

If the illegals weren't allowed in, the tomatoes would rot in the fields and producers would be forced to pay enough to attract American workers. Then, the 'jobs Americans won't do' would be filled. Prices would rise accordingly and Family America would be presented with a realistic hamburger price rather than higher taxes to support illegals. I'd wager they'd be better off.
I don't disagree with anything you described. Like you said, both parties are screwing us. It just that illegal immigration and government altruism throw off the 'invisible hand' at the expense of American citizens and that grates on me. Why do we allow it?

By far, the greatest portion of the $1050 would be sales and excise taxes so, there would be no record of who pays them.

My account when i signed up for the money back years was found to have three additional payers. The government sliced those amounts off for their own use. I doubt they care if the illegals keep paying
But as far as that $1050 as a precise figure the only way it's possible is because the government isn't doing it's job.
Personally I'd be in favor of taking those overpayments and using them for any school or medical bills, court costs, or better yet buying a legal passport from the home country and putting them on the green card list or as a minimum the Bracero Program.
The only truth in the story is the government is a. failing to do it's job and instead is spending time attacking it's own citizens and the Constitution. No different than that gun running scam two Attorney Generals ago that's still killing people.
The current law as regards medical treatment and has been for some decades is no medical provider or facility can turn away anywone in need of immediate treatment. must bring them to the point of being medicallys stablilzed then transferred. That includes US Citizens wh9o are indigentl What isn't paid for is because our government knows nothing about running a business. All they have to do is bill the home country. and deduct it from foreign aid type programs or add it as a tariff ha ha on goods crossing the border. As for the indigent the medical, or school, or court, or prison system only needs to bill the whichever branch and level of government has put them on the hook without permission. At the very least they can then put it on their books as an unpaid debt and use it as legitimate overhead expenses in the 'COG or Cost of Government column.
I'm in favor of No Funding No Mandate with a provision to automatically bill the agency who made it a law or regulation.
However, few aliens and employers choose to go the legal route. Legal means the employer must pay at least minimum wage and collect taxes. Legal means the employee must pay taxes. Almost all aliens and employers choose to forego the legal way and save money.
I'm assuming that's for people you wish to bring over the border and state so in advance. How does it work for those already over the border and illegal.

Those who are already here would have to find sponsors and go through the process and then, probably go back to Mexico so they could come back legally. None of the illegals I talk to have any interest, basically because they're now first class guests, who don't pay taxes, don't need driver's licenses, don't need insurance and can commit crimes with less fear of prosecution or imprisonment than we, the first class citizens. If they enroll in the program they become second class guest/citizens, who pay taxes, must get driver's licenses, must have insurance and, if they commit crimes, will be deported. Why do it?
And, you're right, those who are organized and smart enough to file claim a dozen dependents and not only get all their income tax refunded but, also get the Earned Income Tax Credit.
Simply put, they are the first class aliens and we are the second class citizens.
So solution is sent their best north to improve the USA and the rest of us go south to retain our buying power and go sailing.
Because other bad laws and policies are on the books, we can then take other freedoms away.

Trump's appeal to lower income US citizens is obvious if you're a lower income US citizen. If you're a politician living in the DC area, not so much.
Get rid of illegal aliens and our economy will crash. The movie "a day without mexicans" didnt do justice to how much our economy depends on mexicans (also other hispanics).

The free flow of labor is one thing, the free flow of benefits is quite another. Under current conditions they are incompatible propositions and will cause the system to crash.

We offer them high minimum wages, free schooling, free medical care for them and their babies, SNAP, all sorts of housing allowances, and then we wonder why they sneak across the border. We as a country are just stupid in this regard.
I attended a number of Trump events during the primary season and, talking to people in the audiences, this was the issue that won Trump more votes and allegiance than any other, by far.
People understood "the wall" although, they didn't understand why the wall, without the threat of lethal force, won't work.
People didn't buy Cruz's program to force most illegals to self deport by stopping all benefits and imposing penalties on all companies that employ illegals. Whether they didn't understand the idea or, didn't trust Cruz to follow through or didn't think he could get Congress to follow through is unclear to me.
However, it appears to me we as a country aren't stupid, our politicians simply don't care what we want or think.
What convinced me on Trump, although when in office he might not be able to get congress to go along, is watching the town hall with Anderson Cooper, where his family was there and Cooper grilled them. His kids are amazing and I say the apple doesnt fall far from the tree.

As I told most of the Trump supporters I know well (not the ones I met at his rallies who, would probably not have reacted well) given the level of disappointment in Barack Obama and the level of antipathy for Hillary Clinton, there's only one thing I could think of that could ensure she would win this election - if Donald Trump hijacked the Republican primary. Any of the other 16 Republican candidates would have beat Clinton, some by narrow margins, some by double digits but, Donald Trump will lose.
Who did Donald Trump call the night before announcing his candidacy? Bill Clinton. That doesn't mean it was all a plot but, his former PAC Communications Manager quit because he never planned to win and, when she saw he might actually win the primaries, she was aghast at being part of a fraud.
She may have been lying, although she had no reason to, she wasn't fired. But, whether it was a left wing plot or not, it appears Hillary will beat Trump by a large popular vote margin and an even larger Electoral College margin.
