4 Reasons Self-Driving Cars Make Me Nervous
We've visited this subject before but this article brings up some important points.
Below: I add a few of my own.
This market should only be for those that choose it, those that for one reason or another can't drive; Not to mention, those we do not want behind the wheel...ie.statistically proven "Bad" drivers, drunks, drug addicts or anyone using Any, brain interfering substance including certain prescription drugs.
I would add one more circumstance that should make Everyone nervous...what happens during a natural or man made EMP event...not to mention even relatively low atmospheric charging events which, by the way, happen quite often and do effect electronics.

I'm looking forward to being able to read a book while my car takes me somewhere -- and never having to worry about becoming to old to drive safely.
The article though did point out some problems the industry should consider...unless the plan is to continue the collective view of things.
There should however, always be a choice in the matter and a system that allows one to intervene when things go haywire.
Driving is an activity that doing poorly can get you killed. You would think that people would devote a little more effort into doing it well.
As the recent Tesla fatality illustrates, I am not yet willing to surrender my safety to a machine I trust less than I trust my own abilities.
For many drivers on the road, (maybe most?) I think the self-driving cars would be an improvement. As my eyesight gets worse and my reaction times get slower, there may come a time when I am willing to let the machine drive. That time is not here yet ...
