I agree completely. Mass murder is not about tribalism or emotions poisoning minds.

The book Acts of Faith by Eboo Patel discusses how first generation immigrants (to any country) are sometimes caught between two worlds. Their parents have their network of people from the old country. They don't fit in completely with the new country. They're ripe for extremists to radicalize them.

The ARI post correctly delineates Trump's and Clinton's failure to properly identify the ideological cause of jihadist terror, nor the proper remedy for it. I was expecting to see commentary quoting Rand on Objectivist philosophy regarding the error in a religious-based philosophy. It wasn't there. I guess they assumed that an Objectivist would know this. It felt like the author baked a cake and then forgot to put frosting on it.
