I'm very happy to have landed in the Gulch...I'm here because I want to, hopefully, meet like-minded Objectivist individuals who have a passion for understanding and for applying it for the sole purpose of enjoying their lives. That should not have to be said, but I've met many distracted Randian cultists, especially in the NYC area, who were more interested in haughtily projecting themselves as superior True Believers _ to both others and, especially, to themselves.
I'm 74. In 1967, after having read The Virtue of Selfishness, I was so thrilled to have begun to understand that the world was not fuzzy, but was as clearly understandable as math. What a hoot! Learning became more enjoyable because it was more understandable, relevant, important, integrable.
