Forced Medical Treatment This Friday
Well, SB277 takes effect here in California this Friday and children will be forced to receive 69 vaccinations before they turn 18. You might hear about this in other states on the news when a whole bunch of families first learn of this upon schools opening back up for the fall.
This is going to get interesting. Doctors have been removed completely from the medical decision process, replaced by lawmakers. But, it's ok, because it's only children. So....don't worry about it.

As for not vaccinating, would you be OK with quarantining those with certain diseases as they did when I was young? Although that would interfere with those who would have exposure parties for some of the diseases.
Never mind the issue of Force...I would call this law...initiatory force.
And how many are dying of smallpox. Young children dying of whooping cough?
I saw a stat yesterday that I was discussing with our pediatrician just last night. About 1/5 of children in America may have zero vaccination. Zero. So..."where are the wards full of polio victims on ventilators"? Do you know what percentage of people who get polio actually show any symptoms at all? It's certainly a very complicated, horrible disease. Want to stop it? Clean up the s&^t. Want to empty 2/3 of the world's hospitals? Clean up the water.
Better, according to whom? According to which values? Then along come the unintended--and intended--consequences.

I actually do think many people are irresponsible and could use a parent (grandparent, in this case), but I don't want it to be big brother. Then there are people like you who are responsible, intelligent, and paying attention, and just disagree with mainstream medical opinion on this for clear reasons. It's parents' natural right to make these decisions for their kids.
So I wish you were right that it took serious campaign money to sway lawmakers to use force. The bar for what justifies gov't force is so low in people's minds that if the evidence shows it's a good idea, they think "let's use force to make a better world."
In Malaysia, a nation with a Muslim majority, religious leaders have condemned vaccination. So devout Muslims will not vaccinate themselves or their children.

Go in the military and you get a couple dozen shots. Every year sometimes three or four times that if they lost your records. Is that dangeorus? Kind of like overdosing I should think? I asked once. Then I asked how many medical personnel or personnel personnel had been court martialed for losing or misplacing or mis filing all those records or allowing it to happen? Watch the REMF knives come out. That contiued for 24 years including the retirement physical where they refused to do end of career xrays on various injuries. Why? Government cutting back somewhere else on service connected. I wrote down the names of all concerned and was questioned about that. "Sure thing Doc. A Major. Ift this pops up I intend to find a lawyer and file some law suits. Like me you aren't always going to be wearing that uniform. So you get to spend the rest of your life wondering when the process server is going to show up. Now...if you want to prefer charges against me following my rights uner UCMJ and the Constitution be my guest. I have all of this on file with witnesses, or on tape, You can delay my retirement and I'll make more money for waiting around and by the way five more days I retire at highest rank held. So right away having access to the SB-277 bill shows the OP is wrong about more than one thing. Doctors have NOT been removed and medical exemptions are granted, just not religious ones.

I'll give you a tidbit. Doctors who issue these exemptions are being reported by schools who receive them and their licensure is being questioned. Fat, dumb school secretaries are enforcing a law they don't understand...for the "greater good".
Have you seen the form the AAP has created for this exemption? You should look at it. Closely.
When kids go back to school the next month or so it will be interesting to see the fallout from all those parents who may have missed a gardasil shot, etc..."Sorry, no free public education for your kid." They'll let a kid who has hepatitis attend school, but not a kid who didn't get the vaccine for it. Haha!
