The Antarctic researcher is named Bill Baker. Bill left Florida Tech after my university's lowest point in its history. After one of the hurricanes of 2004, our biology building was without power for several days. Dr. Baker's sea sponges were in a freezer that warmed up, killing them. I don't blame him for leaving.
