circuitguy-you KNOW I had to post this when I saw the TP picture....I was a stay at home home mom-unless I wasn't. When I wasn't, I forgot things, like picking the kids up from after school activities and making cookies. db often did the piano lessons and braided hair as an entrepreneur. It was finally decided I could either work or child rear. Everybody's different...

So, you were voluntarily non-productive (at least financially). I personally believe that motherhood is the most productive avocation on the planet.

I was plenty productive. But I did want a career. I did not manage both well. It made good sense for me to see that and it was well worth the loss in income. If I had to do it over again, I would homeschool. Maybe one day I will have grandchildren and can offer that up.

Staying home to raise kids is one of the most difficult, challenging things a person can do. I remember years ago when Hillary Clinton said, "Oh no! I didn't stay home and bake cookies." What more needs to be said?...

Our reluctance to stay home and raise the kids is resulting in serious damage to the country. No doubt.

How is child-rearing not a career? Used to be revered, yet now and for the past 45 years, is ridiculed like the odd kid on the playground. God designed men and women differently for different roles, but with enough similarities to correspond and communicate. When man seeks to change God's design, chaos results. Not a difficult concept.

These articles simply point out the obvious.
