A lesson in the cost of freedom, as well as the ability of an embattled government to try to stop it. A lesson for us, when the US starts having all of us fingerprinted for "proof" of something or another.

The Venezuelan government is demanding that all people who signed a petition for the ouster of Maduro get fingerprinted. This could be a sign that Venezuelans have realized the error of their ways, or it could be the first step in a government crackdown on its political enemies.

My Venezuelan students are afraid to go home. One is doing excellent work on a research project with me this summer.
