WE should deal in our own defense here, and let the arabs ride the oil thing until they go back to their dark cold tents. In the meantime, we develop alternative energies and be free of them. Islam used to be an advanced culture, but they lost it somewhere
Except for the religious reference, which is to be expected, Prime Minister Netanyahu is perfectly on the money. Contrast that with Obamas speech, which was nothing more that an excuse to do a stump speech.
"Whoever kills a person [unjustly]…it is as though he has killed all mankind. And whoever saves a life, it is as though he had saved all mankind." (Qur’an, 5:32)
The "unjustly" part is critical. Few kill unjustly. The Jewish Bible and Christian Bible urges death for homosexuals. So does the Koran. To those who "go by the book" such killings are just. While I agree with Bibi here, he misses that his own book of faith demands he should kill gays. To not do so is to go against the holy book. Therein lies the problem with those who claim to follow their holy books, they cannot follow them 100% because virtually all people realize these books are seriously flawed, so they pick and choose what to read and believe.
I agree with you, but he didn't ask for power. He asked for people to stand together. Taken at face value, this is exactly what we need to do to eliminate the fear this threat feeds on as its lifeblood. This by the actions of people, not governments.
I agree with him. Crazy, hypocritical, coward = terrorists.
Perhaps motivated to increase sympathy for Israel by identifying a common enemy.
On the other hand, the media makes the death of 50 people by a crazy person into a tragedy more present in people's minds than real issues, and worse causes people to be afraid, rather than angry. If we behaved with the simple wisdom of social animals, acts like this would be resolved by dismemberment 20 minutes before the police arrived...e.g. the train car in France. Rather we behave like lemmings, die like lemmings and support the strategy of our enemies with our fear.
all he is doing is basically letting the rest of the western developed world know that they are welcoming the way of life that Israel has been living for the past 6000 years. the answer is to carpet bomb the middle east with a-bombs and then round up all of the muslims and deposit them back in the desert. eliminate the problem once and for all.
For some reason I dont understand, Jews were totally hated in Europe, culminating in their partial extinction . After the war, they were basically told to leave all parts of Eurpope and they wound up taking refuge under English rule in the 'holy lands". They were just installed in what were Arab lands, and hated there for that too. The jews basically took root and refused to leave those 'holy lands' because they had no where else to go. That was like 50 years ago or more now. But they are still persecuted by the Arabs. I am sure he knows how the LGBT community feels.
He is also right that its "infidels" who are the target of islam, not just jews or gay people.
I dont know what to think about the motivation behind his statements. I always wonder about politicans' agendas though.
Netanyahu wants more support for Israel and he is using the killings in Orlando to try to get it. His comments support the neocons' attack on individual liberty and privacy and they will send more US$ to Israel. The loss of freedom comes when laws are passed here that take away our constitutional rights in order to wage undeclared war on the middle east (and elsewhere) mostly peaceful Muslim population which coincidentally was the purpose of Netanyahu's comments. We have seen it many times before. Whipping up public support for unforgivable acts of war by governments who are supposed to be peaceful.. Its politics. War is waged instead of pursuing more effective solutions. Our liberty is destroyed and the productive middle class are converted to serfs while fortunes are made from war. Worst evil scum in the history of the world.
Netanyahu is a very cogent and articulate speaker, and he of all world leaders knows about the dangers of Islam. It's just a shame that so few take him seriously.
Absolutely. And Obama wants to let in syrian refugees !!! Forget that. As much as people hate Trump, he is right about not letting in the muslims until we can figure out which of them are dangerous. I say they either disavow the "kill the infidels" part of the religion they believe in OR they can stay in Syria and not needlessly threaten us. We dont need to be "humanitarian" towards people who profess to kill us because we arent muslin.
I think he makes a false distinction between so called "radical islamists" and "other islamists who keep quiet". The only real distinction is that the "radical" ones go out and actually kill infidels, while the "other islamists" stand on the sidelines and let the radical ones do the killing for them.
Its built into islam to kill the non-believers, and UNTIL muslims disavow this tenet of their religion, I really dont see a big difference between any of them intellectually.
I agree with you first 3 sentences. I think politically Motivated as a description of his remarks are open- ended and suggests a negative connotation. I also didn't take away any loss of freedom from his remarks. Should he have commented? I would say yes. Has his country been under constant attack from radical Islam? Yes. Should Israel exist in former British Palestine? ask the Rothschilds The worst evil scum in the history of the world.
On the other hand those who eschew his remarks seem to have based comments on the debate phenomena known as ' on mans baloney is another mans sausage is another mans hot dog.
I agree with him. In the middle he said "radical Islam makes no distinction between shades of infidel." True. Even if they did and they said they only wanted to murder people in certain groups, groups I'm not a part of, they'd still be every bit as evil.
I am tired of hearing politicians use tragedy to take away rights. I am tired of hearing politicians talk about their empathy for victims of crime while making it impossible for individuals to defend themselves against criminals. I am tired of hearing politicians use criminal acts to excuse invasion of countries and war crimes on innocent civilians. Netanyahu's remarks are politically motivated. Some are valid, but giving more power to the state is not the answer.
