No, Herb, of course I believe in self defense. Going to war is not the same thing as self defense. Defense is the action of defending from or resisting attack. I agree with one prominent (otherwise repugnant) presidential candidate on restricting immigration, and that is a most important step. That door has been left open for far too long and NATO should do the same thing. Slam the door shut. We should also lower the probability of success for an attacker who gets past immigration. Repealing restrictive gun laws be a good start toward that. Put a real embargo on countries that don't make progress against the terrorist factions. Stop trading with the enemy. Starve them. Stop wasting money and lives in Afghanistan unless a rational plan for VICTORY is employed. If its really war then declare war and end it as quickly as possible.
Ending the war is not the goal of the statists, so they will not do what is needed.

I personally think that UNLESS a muslim who accepts their bible's (KURAN??) tenet to kill all infidels renounces that passage, they should not be allowed to come to the USA. Why allow killers to live next to you? Particularly refugees.

I am not saying they HAVE to get rid of their bible, or sections of it. BUT if they want to come over here and live next to me, I would require that. They can stay in their own lands and I will agree never to soil their homeland by visiting.

In general, I think you are correct. Christians have the evangelicals and others (Jehovah’s Witnesses, for one example) who do believe in the inerrancy of the bible and the Jews have their share of Torah inerrancy folks. As to them, their loyalty seems to be god, country, family — in that order. They would kill homosexuals, etc, as biblical commandments in the sincere belief the killings were “just.” The same as the jihadists. They are no doubt of moderate intelligence, but unable to overcome the psychological issue of cognative dissonance.

Very true. But Israel is sensitive to the point of paranoia. Every day they are sprayed with rockets or attacked. Our recent tragedy is almost commonplace with them. I really think that if they were left to themselves without the fear of dissolution, government power would fade away like an often washed cheap bedsheet.
