Many of us have seen this coming for a while, but this will be today's kick in the teeth.

The US gov is now imitating Europe where there is a stream of 'directives' streaming out from Brussels. Directives that bear little link to the so-called European parliament.
Soon, expect to get directives and executive orders to stop poverty, cancer and TV food programs.
When faith and power over-ride objectivity and freedom the results will be- that the poor are shunted and hidden behind a wall not to be seen, cancer suffers are not able to get treatment which is illegal, and there is an underground market in food videos.

New tech is coming that may deal with this based on early testing in power plants in Asia and South America.
It is an American small company that has created the technology.
American power plants may now have to wake up and consider new technology that they have been too complacent to think about before.
Not that I am applauding the %^&* in the white house for this latest unconstitutional expansion of his power.

Do you have any details about the American small company you list above?

In mid-October each year while teaching my Introduction to Chemical Engineering class, I spend a couple of lectures on environmental drivers for technology changes within my industry. That means that I spend half an hour debunking the global warming myth but spend about 20 minutes on carbon sequestration options for complying with the global warming nonsense.

I can't reveal any details at present, but when there are some testing data available for release we can chat about it. I am on your blast list and have your email address. Hope to have an organized release soon.

Did you get one of my e-mail blasts yet, or do I still need to add your name to the list? I think I did add your e-mail, but my memory isn't clear on this.

I understand about privacy concerns. Perhaps I could get nailed for insider trading like Phil Mickelson.

Good enough, freedomforall. I appreciate the heads-up on the laser moratorium, too. I just bought a new 40 Watt laser engraver for $500 on EBay similar to the one my machinist has. We are going to retrofit it to do really inexpensive laser sintering for 3D printing of metals. I haven't exactly figured out how yet. I have some of the details figured out. Fortunately my machinist is a genius who has started his own 3D printing company before, and his assistant is definitely a future John Galt. That 20-year-old kid can do damn near anything. All I have to do is keep buying the stuff he tells me to buy. Within a week of receiving it, he has the next stage of his latest invention built.

That sounds amazing. Look forward to hearing more.

It will be amazing, but we have much work to do. In the meantime, on the week of the 16th, the three of us train 30 people from my university, including ten who will work for us for the next two to three years (including my daughter for four years) on how to build and execute conventional 3D printing of polymers as an intermediate step.

"States could have until 2017 to submit a plan to cut power plant pollution, and 2018 if they join with other states to tackle the problem, according to the EPA's proposal. "

Are the plans required to actually cut power plant pollution, or merely address it? I mean, if there's no requirement that the plans actually cut pollution, the plan could consist of one word; "nothing".

I have this fantasy, if I were a multibillionaire like Soros or Gates...

I'd create a company to create a crash-program to send a robotic probe to one of the carbonaceous asteroids, plant a few bombs to knock it out of orbit and send it crashing into the Earth (a small one, say the size of a house or a semi; most of it would burn up in the atmosphere, thus creating one hell of a carbon footprint...).

Then watch the EPA freak out and try to charge me for my carbon footprint.

"Oh, okay... You want me to bring you another one without so much carbon in it? What's your address?"

Better... I'd try to find a metallic asteroid with deposits of silver, nickel, gold, maybe, and scale that one down to Earth... to pay the fines, of course...
