Looks as if there's still a lot to learn.Nature can perpetrate more horrors than many that man can. ALS can leave your perfectly good mind in a useless body, while Alzheimer's can allow a perfectly good body be inhabited by a useless mind. And, those are just two extremes with all sorts of possible goodies in between. I'm grateful to be as well as I am, or as the one legged man said, "I can't kick."

This discovery is too late for my deceased mother.
Maybe it comes along in time for me.
    Maybe.
Now watch me check out with Alzheimer's anyhoo.
    Anyhee? Anyhum?
Excuse me while I consult my dictionary.
Uh, where did I put that dictionary?
    Dictionary! My dictionary!
Where the hell did I put that dad-blasted dictionary!?!

Logic says that SOMETHING goes wrong in the brain of an Alzheimer's patient. Its just a matter of what it is. Hopefully it will make financial sense to just CURE it, rather than sell us a pill-a-day for the rest of our lives the only slows it down.

    How common are brain infections?

I found another source that says "Alzheimer's disease affects one in 10 people over age 65 and nearly half of people over age 85"

Brain infections. One need not go beyond congress to see the infections. Remember to define politics as it is. Two words combining to make one word. The first is "poli" which is a mathematical term meaning many. The second word is "tics", which are blood sucking parasites.
So, the proper definition for politics is "many blood sucking parasites." Let's get rid of them.

This is not the first article relating brain infections to Alzheimer's, nor is it the only mechanism by which amyloid beta can misfold.

The cure would be to take out that plaque. For some reason cleaning out the brain from the remains of immunal attacks seems to be a problem.
Oxygen would do that and so would a body cleans like Rene Case, flora-essence or essence tea.
The fungal aspect...if more the case than not would probably be candida yeast overgrowth.

Of course a proper clean untainted diet (for your blood/geno type) and frequent cleansing would avoid the problem altogether.

The problem is that the immunal attacks kill a certain enzyme that is designed to remove "leftover" amino acids from protein synthesis inside the brain. If left over for a sufficiently long time, those amino acids react to an unwanted side product that ultimately results in Alzheimer's disease.

There are multiple ways that the enzyme can be killed, including immunal attack.

There's a link with aluminum from what I've read. Good luck with that. Multiple sources. Most don't acknowledge that it's a neurotoxin. LOL....

This is good and bad news. So many of us have had infections that effect the brain. A viral got me, and I had cranial nerve damage from the infection. . How about kids who get encephalitis and survive, like my nephew? My step-mom went into a nursing home at 74 with Alzheimer's and did not know any of us, nor remember my dad who died two years earlier. TB can be in the brain as well. It really is scary. I remember when they said high IQ people were more likely to get it, but hopefully, that is not true.I would like to know the statistics for actual Alzheimer's vs the drug=induced Alzheimer's caused by doctors, esp. in nursing homes, to make more money. I have know two people place in Alzheimer's wings, only to recover completely when family demaded (accurate description) the doctor be taken off the case and drugs stopped. Both went home to live independently.

I wonder how long before the "settled science" disorder begins to affect medical research. After all, most of the "Big Pharma" costs are driven by research to explore causes and cures, so why not attack the medical costs by declaring that existing medications are proven, successful treatments, and no more irrelevant research is necessary?

Most of the world's rich countries have had socialized medicine and price controls on drugs for decades -- and as a result, US consumers have been funding their medical R&D. Let the left succeed in enacting those things here, and NO significant medical R&D will continue in the world.
