Last week we had a discussion about the pros and cons of a constitutional convention, and UncommonSense correctly stated that the Dems are ready for it. Look what went to my spam e-mail box yesterday.

Thanks to the Supreme Court, special interest groups funded by billionaires like the Koch brothers and Karl Rove are spending tens of millions to influence elections.

    Congratulations, j... to you, your wife, and to the rest who have celebrated their relationships on this thread. It's good to be in such great company.

    Sorry to have disappeared, but we're preparing for the Big 35 (June 2nd), and that involves a lot less time at the keyboard. We'll be away for a week or 10 days, in a little place out on the edge of everything where we may or may not have coverage - Verizon says it's "spotty"... we shall see.

    I've truly enjoyed the discussion here, the frank exchange of ideas and opinion, the exploration of fact and fiction, a stimulating meeting of the minds in most instances, and a cordial agreement to disagree in others ... this is the way it should be everywhere. I will be back.

    WOW - Congratulations to all of you! We have 15 so far... I only wish life had brought us together 15 years before! Like you said, jb, there could not have been a better "us". ;-)

    Happy Anniversary jbrenner and wife. What a refreshing comment. Yes, I haven't been in much because it took us almost our whole lives to find each other.. So funny, I call him Ragnar and he calls me Kay and life couldn't be better. Two true Objectivists in the process of getting our Pirate ship to sail the world on a mission. Congratulations on your successful partnership :-)

    It is kind of sweet and quaint, but I meant every word of it. There are plenty of women that wouldn't put up with me (with good cause). She is worth quite a lot to me and our family.

    Happy Anniversary! My wife and I are close to 23 years together. What Ayn Rand said about marriages in the discussion about Kay Ludlow and Ragnar Danneskjold always intrigued me. Fortunately for us, we could have searched the whole world over until our lives were through, and we could not have a found a better us.

    That's your prerogative, Rich, and I respect that. I reserve the right, however, to do my best by way of civil discourse to disabuse you of that notion, but only if you choose to engage. My vocation is advertising, and I never twist arms. If a potential client doesn't see the value in our products or services, then the returns accrue to those who do.
