Apparently their educators have drunk the Kool-Aid and are ready to throw common sense out the window. Censorship has hit Oregon!!

Is it possible for an entire community to go crazy?
    I guess so.
    Go get 'em!

No, it is not entire community that is crazy. The community, in its naïve mind, gradually ceded way too much power to its so called leaders. The letter, on their part, have been in power so much too long, that now the only thing they addictively crave is more power. Just my opinion. I cannot prove the hypothesis. Come to think, the life has proven it.

But that's nothing new that started when I was in high school and the culprits were in two places. Willamette Valley entero and academia. Right now you might as well call it Amsterdam West.

This is not just Oregon, they are just more gullible. This is the UN Agenda 21 crowd. Portland treid the population density thing during the Clinton years, refusing building permits outside the city, not allowing lots over a certain size, and refusing permits for work if they were. Then it affected the lawyers and they fought back. If they wanted kids to learn, teach them science and weather and let them decide. The fact is, this is about control. If anything is changing climate it is the HAARP installations still running in Alaska and Puerto Rico, they never mention that. The UN folds said theyd on't care if climate change is real, as long as people believe it is and can be controlled. That is what kids should be hearing, how they are being made pawns by politicians and the UN.

I'm in--assuming we can come up with a way that has a good chance of being effective.

That said, I was raised in Oregon, survived 40 years in Southern California, and moved to Bend four years ago. Central Oregon has many more sensible people than do the population centers here. In fact, most of those I talk to question the climate propaganda.

As a 13 year Oregon resident (previously Californian before I fled the tidal wave of idiocy), I've been looking for the light switch and exit door for a while. I am now increasing the effort ten fold. My liberal ex-friends simply do not understand how someone could leave the land of unicorns and rainbows.

climate change happens each and every day.

but to believe that the planet is warming is simply stupid to think is happening. the usa is in fact about 10 degrees or more lower than it has been this month in past years and it does not appear that it is going to change. the school system is controlled by the federal government and therefore the school system is ordered to do as comes down from the chain of command.

when the country sees a lack of crops growing due to cold weather maybe, just maybe the chain of command will wake up. DOUBTFUL!!!!

It's become totally ridiculous, how desperate and fanatic the climate change crusaders have become.
In a comment on one news source I offered to send copies of the book based on this article to whoever asks for it in this school district. You can't shut down facts and reason! http://bloggingnetworkonline.com/keep...

The took a page from the NRA (who bought all the gun rules in Oregon in 1996, so now you cannot hold anyone criminally or civilly liable for the effect of their gunfire), and the climate goons probably made some strategic donations to each of the idiots election funds. Par for the course here and in mainstream America today.

This school board does not know how to teach As far as banning books goes, I remember something I heard a long time ago. "All knowledge is learning, and therefore good." You cannot prepare for something of which you have no knowledge. Teach everything.

[sad], [sic]...disappointing to think humans would actually reject their own minds...assuming they ever connected to one.

Think of the number of comments and then weed out those who are looking for excuses not to excel. Who having found an excuse to quit do so only to find themselves defending their excuses. Having conditioned themselves for a certain level of expectation they of course fail at that task and continue to do so

All it would have taken was nor accepting second best. The rest is just building on a bad habit. A wrong choice. A failure to improve.

We've had some demonstrations of second raters and some others that no matter what keep trying, learning, expanding, testing. Never accepting defeat.

It is after all one of the prime tenets of objectivism. Almost doesn't cut it. Close enough doesn't win a trophy, Good enough wins no applause.

And who is the judge. Why it's the same second rater who is also the accuser and is also the failure. All the same individual.

One can tell when they settle for being a second rater and when they have found themselves guilty. Then ask for others to forget, forgive, join in, absolve. Forgetting no one can do that except the same individual who openly confessed to being a second rater and then demonstrated how it's done.

I think is a common phrase I believe never heard. I know is never a thought.

As OUC suggests they have rejected their own minds

So Carl...since we know don't think of them as humans. Just second raters.

A recent article in the local rag (east of the Cascades, which used to be a place unlike Portland) ran a story on how wonderful it was that a high school teacher gave her students one day a week off for a whole semester (that's 20%, for those who were schooled here) to go out and "make a difference." No constraints. Not one engaged in commerce, but contributed something to the local welfare pool, or picketed something, or interviewed the homeless ("what's the one thing you want to make your life better?" Not one said "a job.") or wrote a nasty letter about greed, and other such approved things. But at least that wasn't one day listening to the drivel being taught (I use the term with humor) to dislike those who had differing opinions that the leftist teachers.

Reading between the lines. The teacher needed the time to fill out all the forms and hit on the idea of having the room empty for was it a whole day each week or just one hour for one of the days.

I recall an old saying on the honor system. Teacher had the honor the kids had the system. It' sounds like a system system in that school with no honor on either side.

Kids stay out of my way you get an "A"!

Perhaps the whole day came from other teachers following the plan.

Just think during that day they painted over tagging so they could go out at night and have a fresh surface to crap on

This is typical of the current education empire. Wish it so, make it so. Facts? We don't need no stinkin facts. If the Imperial Obamanation says it is so, IT IS SO!. This is why there is a huge resurgence in private schools and charter schools, the charters fight every year to stay afloat. This is absolutely normal in a state that can only vote for the person who gives them the most, damn the cost. They borrow like the Feds, have no plan beyond the current month or two, or at best election cycle, and constantly crow about all the "good" they do. Meanwhile, companies like Intel, hire H1B's to come to the US, because they can't get the dumb kids produced to pass a basic job interview. Add to that the climate of "expectation" (as in I expect to get 20.00 an hour to start, I expect no taxes, I expect...) and they get really disappointed by reality. Then they vote for more fantasy to sooth their shattered egos. However, I am not so sure Oregon is the worst, it is certainly no better than any other state. The only grace is if you go rural, their effect and stupidity quotient is slightly less. I am hoping to sell and move in with Sasquatch, if he will let me....he's probably a few points up the IQ scale from our idiot savants running things.
