Cigars, an expression of "The Good Life": which do cigar smoking Gulchers prefer?

With my current software contract on hold, I have, among other things, been learning the cigar business by working at a local cigar parlor.

So, I'm interested, what do our cigar smoking Gulchers prefer for a good stick?

I am not an aficionado, but I do like an occasional Cuesta Rey. I used to enjoy a Macanudo once in a while but I prefer the milder, spicy flavor of the Cuesta Rey's better..

    For clarity's sake:
    The brand name is Tatuaje.
    The cigar name is Cojonu
    The wrapper is Sumatran leaf.

But, a cigar like the Tatuaje Cojonu Sumatran, by any other name, still kicks ass.

As a libertarian, I am 100% behind y'all being able to smoke cigars, and wish you the best with that. I hope y'all can form a club, and "do your thing" with impunity!

I'd even like to be friends. My "standard line" goes like this: Let's get together, sacrifice some hamburgers to the occasion, swap lies, and talk about all the old times we never had together!

It'll just have to be a fair distance away from your cigar club meetings....

    ;-)

I am much more of a quantity vs. quality person. I enjoy some personal time in the evening after the kids go to bed so I look for cigars around $1-$1.50/stick for a Churchill. Every couple of months I'll splurge and look for a Cohiba or Rocky Patel but I try to stay away from Ghurka's. cigar.com has their Premero series that aren't too bad for a cheap herfer like myself.

You qualified the question to "cigar smoking gulchers" -- which is not me, nor has it ever been. I know some folks smoke them, and feel like it is a wonderful thing, but I cannot stand to be anywhere close to them.

So which ones to *I* prefer? The ones that are at least a block away.....

I enjoy a Rocky Patel. Good steady taste because I don't enjoy them often (too hot outside). I would not mind smoking one with the dollar sign on it!

    Depends on the day.
I tend to stick with Arturo Fuente. I like their Hemingway series, Short Story is one my absolute favorites for a quick smoke. But I also like Rocky Patel, Olivia, Romeo y Julieta, Montecristo, H. Upmann, and so many others.

The only Padrons we stock are the 3000 series (I think).
Priced at $28.00 a stick, I've only smoked one so far (natural wrapper).
And that was a damned fine smoke.

I've read but can't confirm that Nat Sherman made the $ cigarette for Ayn Rand, and that you can still order them.

If true, I wonder if they have a $ banded cigar.

My husband likes Drew Estates Acids and Naturals. The Naturals were blended tobacco from all over the world so the flavors were different, more variety. The Acids: Cold Infusion and Kubas

When I smoke a cigar, it is usually in the evening on the back porch, and I enjoy a long smoke. I enjoy a Churchill, and my favorites are Cohiba Red Dots. I like Padrons as well. Both have a good flavor, with a nice finish. And I have never had trouble with either of these burning unevenly. They must have good rollers.

We have a selection of AF here, including the Short Story (which I haven't tried yet).
We also have some other AF lines: Julius Caesar, Maximus, and Diamond Crown.

I recently tried a Perla Del Mar (Arturo Fuente/J.C.Newman) Connecticut Box Press.
    Outstanding.
Giving the owner constant reminders to stock it.
