This movie deals with the BBB. No, not the Better Business Bureau, but the Big Bad Businessman. Nuclear threats from North Korea and Iran, the Middle East on fire, Russia challenging the USA on world stages, America on the verge of bankruptcy, terrorism at home and abroad, but what do we really have to fear? Businessmen cheating their stockholders. The story is a thriller with sharp performances by George Clooney and Julia Roberts. Jack O'Connell does his best with a kind of Brooklyn accent that falters back to his UK roots now and then. Here's a very basic bare bones of the plot:
Clooney, a clownish TV money man is halted on air by a delivery man with a gun and a bomb jacket for Clooney to wear. He has lost everything on advice for the purchase of a stock by Clooney. The interaction between Clooney and Roberts steals the show from O'Connell even though they are only together for a few minutes. Toward the end the story as well as the action starts to fall apart slowing down to a ridiculous ending. Once again, who is the villain? "We have met the enemy and they is us." -- Walt Kelly
