This kind of stuff scares me a little about Trump. It wasn't unexpected. If he had tied it to the maxiumum in welfare benefits such as minimum wage must be 50% greater than the total welfare (divided by 52 weeks and 40 hours per week.) it would make some sense.

HOWVER it a lot lower than the $50 an hour Hillary or Sanders programs are going to require.

Trump didnt say he would raise the minimum wage. He said he would considerit. That was saying nothing at all.

I would consider raising the minimum wage too. But not actually do it.

The issue is how many jobs do you want to eliminate that arent worth the minimum wage. I dont think Trump is stupid.

One more policy on which he differs not a whit from Hillary Clinton. Wonderful. NOT!

I talked to a Trump supporter yesterday, and mentioned this very thing. His reply? "Well, nobody's perfect." He runs a chain of soft-serve frozen treat stores. I told him he's going to be impacted severely if that happens. He indicated that he'd just raise prices. I had just finished scarfing down a cone that cost $2.99. In the words or an eastern European friend, "It lasted very short." How much more can he get for 5 minutes worth of delicious?

A $15 minimum wage will not be worth the funny money paper its printed on.
This is also what the left wants with the Dem-wit motive of collapsing us into a brave new low information dependent world.

It's not just that bad move that is disturbing he's moving left in many ways. Staff selection is one of them .Right to the position I picked for him as left of RInos and slightly the right of Hillary - but not by much socialist corporatist/statist is not far from socialist statist/corporatists.

He is pandering to the left to get votes. Who knows what he will actually do if elected? I do not trust him. I don't trust any of them.

Has anyone else noticed how the efforts to "improve" our economy have shifted gears over the last couple of decades.

Before, the push was to reduce the cost of living which would have given us the impression of being wealthier. Now, the push is to increase wages, but in doing so, we'll end up feeling poorer, in the end.

All in all, I'm guessing this issue really has absolutely nothing to do with the economy.

There is a strong correlation between rising minimum wage and declining value of the dollar. Dollar devaluation is intentional as it makes payment of debt with cheaper money possible but this is only possible if the dollar is disconnected from precious metal. If the dollar was reattached to gold and silver it would become increasingly stable but this is not what the politicians want.

Another question is "Are these just words, or real opinions that will turn into actions?"

Certainly the kind of thing he need to do to win the general election.

As much as I don't like him, he is better than the Hildebeast!

$15 min. wage will lead to automation. Automation will strip way jobs and put more people dependent on unemployment or welfare - just what the left wants.

The only good thing that might come out of it is people will stop eating poisoned fast food, (because of the higher prices), lose weight and need less food stamps...cause they'll all be out of a job...

Hike the minimum wage and the prices go up and we end up in the same place; not to mention the entitled with a new exaggerated false sense of worth and the rest of us with a renewed sense of futility.
