I can honestly say, on more than one occasion, I have referenced material to use in a debate, only to find out Thomas Sowell was the author. When I searched for truth I found Mr. Sowell. I like the putting on the coat quote. I still think Charles Krauthammer is the smartest man in the world, with Thomas Sowell, he’s in good company.
charles? really??? naw, he's still beltway influenced. there is so much to disagree with Charles on, but he is polite and careful with his commentary. spin, what area of the country are you in?
yes he is. He is quite a bit older and I think he limits his engagements by choice. Also, I think he is shy regarding his his speech. As a child, he was late to speak and overcomes a speech impediment. He wrote a book about it.
hey! my son either. that's when I read it. The Einstein Syndrome. My niece held out (with teachers anyway) until 7-8. there's some stubborn in the equation, I think.
Wow 7or8 that must be stubborness. Mine isn't the stubborn type though... I asked the Dr. about it and he said it's somewhat common with second siblings they don't "need" to talk so they just don't. He would say complete sentences in his sleep, but not when he was awake...and he made up his own words for things too. He would only say one word things if anything at all and if you didn't know his lingo you were lost... until one night...after playing a game called RoadRash on Nintendo (a motorcycle game) with his brother...at the dinner table he started laughing his head off and repeating one of the motorcycle rider's rants, "you're dead meat! you're dead meat! Do you hear me? I said you're dead meat!" He could not stop laughing and then his brother joined in and I was clueless...and astonished that he talked... I guess you had to be there. My older son was a super early talker...and asked questions non stop.
I racked it up to close in age. my kids are 16 months apart. but. when he was around 9 months we used to laugh so hard-he'd say these perfect cadenced sentences with inflection and expression. like he was joining into the adult conversation. he had no use for any other kind of communication, besides making sounds for cars, planes, trains, and loud bangs. He sounded a little like pebbles when he talked to us and bam bam when he was in his own world. anyway, the communication turned into intricate sign language and me saying "use your words" lol. shoot, he was clearly reading before he chose to give us sentences in english.
LOL.. hilarious! Mine are 4 years apart. We would do the "use your words" also, but his words weren't our words lol a little hard to argue with. :) He would also sing a lot. I'd walk by his room and he would be in there occupying himself with toys and just humming or singing away happy as could be. I loved that! :) To this day, when I walk past his room I'll make a certain noise...and he responds with another noise. lol I'm just now at this moment realizing that's probably odd.
Thank you lol. Today when I walk by his room I'm saying "hey little head"...cuz I buzzed his afro off yesterday...and today his head looks sooo little. lol

You did know that he is paralyzed, and wheelchair bound, didn't you? Sad story about how that happened.
He went on even though he was paralyzed from the neck down to earn his degree.
it's a boy thing
