Paula Deen is being drawn and quartered...

...for an alleged racial slur from 30 years ago.

She has lost her TV show, her best (pre)selling book, her product sales in many stores, etc.

Why is she being persecuted for a 30 year old remark?

Who is behind this?

I see her being 'taken' down for her success...not unlike the producers in our favorite book.

What say you?

I think Obama is a weak president, but I wouldn’t describe him as evil. Why do you think so?

I saw the same interview and didn't like him from the get go. It was the over enthusiastic smile that he whips out for an extra moment to think of a response. Apparently it's mesmerizing to the sheep. I don't consider anyone who voted for him my friend... How can you square the fact that they voted for evil....a force that is a direct threat to your freedom? It can't be squared. Even if they don't realize it, or try to deny it..it is still so.

Now that I can speak directly to. I saw the Oprah show episode with Obama when it aired in September of 2006. Three times during the broadcast with Obama as a guest (and nobody really knew who he was yet ), she said: “We want you to run for President” He was there to sell his new book. She didn’t just help him, she was the driving force behind him. I did see that with my own eyes. I tease my friends all the time for it. “That’s what you get for voting for Oprah’s choice for President!"

She's being made an example of. She should have stood her ground and taken the hits...instead she crumbled and begged and became a jelly fish. A performance the oppressors can use to advance their agenda. Way to go Paula.

Your last words to me on this topic, “Keep digging” As you can see, I never came back to this thread nor ever promised to dig for info. I also did not “butt heads” with you as you stated in the other topic. Anybody can see that by reading this topic. I don’t think anybody, did they?

Point is that you made a couple assertions about my actions that were plaintively false. Mistake? Okay, I’m cool with that. How I see my actions in this thread is I did some heavy speculating and gossiping. Agreed? I have no dope on Oprah. Besides I’m more afraid of her than I am of the NSA! Lol.

Oprah would have hit the roof over the plans for a plantation wedding besides the omission of jokes from thirty years ago. She did give Paula Deen her start. Deen’s fans are over on the Oprah website begging her to give her an interview and to fix this. They are suppose to be friends but there has been no official statement from Oprah expressing her views. Since when is Oprah quiet?

    Hence my opening question!

Who benefits from destroying Paula Deen?

Every successful person makes enemies along the way...but I haven't seen any story telling me who even made the opening accusation(s).

I wouldn’t know, but someone with some serious clout has to be taking advantage of Deen’s vulnerability.. I just don’t see a publishing house like Random House canceling any writer’s books because of controversy.

In so many ways, perjury is the most important law that we have.

Without it, taking an oath to tell the truth would be toothless...are you ready to rely on the moral compass of dishonest people?

Far from it...it is a 'stupid' crime used to hide an underlying crime, but heavy duty nonetheless.

Remember Bill Clinton? Did you know that he lost his law license over perjury?

Martha Stewart did not deserve her sentence. name it. actually define the crime of insider trading and make it apply to Congress and the Presidency and WS Banks.

Maybe she can pull a Martha Stewart, and double down?

But Martha DID do something worth punishing.

    Life can be so unfair.

But if you can't trust your senses any longer...we could be almost anywhere!

Maybe that's why I cherish my 6+ decades...things need to be clearer, and free of infinite possibilities for my sanity.

I also want to hold on to my ability to be enraged over things like the subject of this thread. Anger is a stimulant to me, and keeps my on my toes!
