We live in a secular society where an individuals faith is part of that person and, in most cases, not the entirety of that person. This is something that separates us form them. Thankfully?
" President Obama was asked by the institution’s imam to end oppression against Muslims worldwide, Malaysia’s national press agency Bernama reported. "
A reasonable request. It is a small task, easy to agree to and to do. In fact, I live in a non-Muslim country yet they have privileges others do not.
I wonder if after agreeing, BO asked the Malaysian government to assist in stopping the persecution of Christians in Islamic countries? He could add- the persecution, oppression and discrimination against women, atheists, Jews, Ba Hai, Buddhists, homosexuals, in fact just about everyone including Muslims that is so common in Islamic countries.
Hi Map- 1. Australia, where unlike our 'mother country' the UK, there is no established religion. 2. a) In a legally monogamous nation, they can have more than one wife on government welfare support. b) In a nation with very strict gun control and ownership laws, they have obtained guns and use them, so far in disputes among themselves. c) In a nation with no freedom of speech constitutional clause, they can insult and call for violence against women, homosexuals, and other religions (see another recent comment by me on this). Actions which would put other in court, fined, or put in jail. (ditto). d) Institutions paid for by government provide prayer rooms for their use. e) They have special contacts in welfare departments that give the ability to receive welfare while working in proper paying employment. Enough for now.
It's also because TSA is complying (submitting) to Sharia law. This is why our leaders must have the backbone & knowledge of what islam is all about. Regarding any demand by muslims: it always requires a political action to achieve their "religious" aspects. Therefore, we should deny any request of theirs that requires political action.
According to Dr.Bill Warner's "Sharia Law for the non-muslim" there are as many Buddhists in the US as there are muslims.
Can anyone here list ONE special demand/favor/submission made by Buddhists to satisfy their religion? Why?
Because Buddhism is a religion, and islam is a political ideology. The religious aspect of islam is what muslims do among themselves. The political aspect of islam is what muslims concern themselves with when dealing with kaffirs. (you, me & anyone else who isn't a muslim).
I'd wager our politicians fully understand what islam is all about. I'd also wager they'd sell their mothers, not just our country, for the money islamic leaders are pushing into their pockets for compliance.
You know what is really interesting...Ben Rhodes who sent out the Benganzi talking points was also instrumental in pushing for the creation of the TSA. I remember the Bush administration was sort of dragging their heels about putting the recommendations of the 9/11 commission report into practice, but Rhodes was pushing hard. It wasn’t enough to just push a few recommendations, the Dems were demanding Bush put into effect ALL recommendations.
This guy is a creative writer. What is he doing in such a high-level position?? Lol.
three things, 1) a person never mistakenly states his faith (he has - youtube "my muslim faith Obama") 2) a person of faith never asks any other god for help - ever, even being polite. 3) in Islam it is perfectly legitimate to openly lie to do whatever it is your doing in allah's name for allahs will to be done.
We see evidence daily how the great O-riface is deconstructing this nation and even decimating individual freedom and responsibility. With instances like this does anyone really have to ask why anymore? Now thats disturbing, no?
Regarding point #2, it depends on the specific faith in question. Some faiths have no qualms about acknowledging the gods of other religions. Some of them even make a point of doing so.
No perhaps, you wouldn't. If you are a Christian, which he professes publicly, you would never do such a thing. Even a lukewarm Christian who half believes wouldn't recognize another god as legitimate and would certain not go asking for anything.
President Obama says the normal things a leader would say, esp a leader trying to promote religious pluralism. This is why we elected him. He's not bringing about world peace, but he's visiting people around the world and offering kind words. The most bizarre thing is the article finds something even remotely disturbing about that. They must be scraping the bottom of the barrel for things to condemn about the president. It's exactly what I imagined he would do, promote religious pluralism in world where extremism has been a huge problem, when I attended those fundraiser events what feels like ages ago b/c I had no kids yet. :)
I thought Islam was a religion without a central authority to rule on what is allowed. It seems like they need a Pope-like Caliph. Anyway, I'm pretty sure all the main religions of the world claim to be for pluralism and the average religious person is not an extremist.
I'm atheist, but I know many religious people who I am very confident are not extremists in any way, and they don't use religion to make scientific claims.
Gosh, Islam again. (Blech) CG, Islam isn't so much a religion as it is a political theology. For the first 13 years of islam, Mohammed converted about 150 followers ~ mostly family & extended families. Then, he went political and militant and went onto forcibly converting over 100,000 over the next 10 years, up until his death. Anyways...
The central authority of islam is Sharia Law. It applies to muzzies and non-muzzies alike. FYI, in a Sharia compliant country, Christians and Jews are able to "live" (if you can call it that), however, atheists, are NOT TOLERATED & if they do not convert, are put to death.
Mohammed said; the best muslim is a radical one. Furthermore, any muslim that follows Sharia Law is "moderate." Does Sharia Law (SL) allow for wife beating? Yes. Does SL allow for murder of any non-muslim? Yes. Does SL allow for owning/selling & killing of slaves? Yes.
You don't need to believe me though, I encourage you to do your own research. DO NOT consult a muslim: they are obliged to LIE to you. Want to read the book on Sharia Law? Here you go. If you know Sharia, you'll really understand islam and mohammed. http://www.amazon.com/Reliance-Traveller...
I definitely agree with keeping religion separate from gov't. I know many countries identify with a religion and follow extreme interpretations of it. I agree that religion, when taken literally, is a horrible idea. I'm completely atheist. I'm just saying I know some religious people well who I know don't believe in these extreme views. They're not obliged to lie to me because I'm an atheist. They've learned to live in modern secular society. It's just not true that all religious people are extremist.
Then you don't recognize disturbing when you see it...or your in denial...or your just plain clueless about his faith, and childhood, and upbringing. (I think your choice of words "fear mongering" is condescending.)
Frankly, I don't care about his faith. He could be a full-blown Satan worshiper for all I care. Freedom of religion is, after all, supposed to be one of our nation's foundational principles.
Frankly, his evident deconstruction of the country, on top of his religion which is opposed to the nations ideology make a lot more reason to loath this person. Are we better off than we were before O metastasized into the cancer that he is?
Actually, our country's financial turmoil is being caused primarily by the Federal Reserve. The President doesn't have nearly as much power as most people tend to believe. As for Islam supposedly wanting the destruction of America, only some sects want that. Many do not.
Untrue. While the fed is a large part of the problem the lions share of entitlement spending comes from the POTUS and what has been essentially a rubber-stamp legislature. While I cannot say conclusively that many sects do not wish for our destruction I can say that Islam is diametrically opposite the tenants the US was founded on (and pretends to still adhere to). All of Islam is against individuality, individual success, individual pride, and self determination. All of Islam vehemently believes that all things good and bad and that all success and failure in life comes from allah - all of them. Also, all of Islam believes that islamic law trumps all other law. How do those aspects of islam align themselves with the US way of life or even western civilization?
Mormonism also has a system of government contained within its doctrine (known as either The Law of Consecration or The United Order), yet they've still managed to assimilate into the rest of society just fine.
Yeah, we could go deep on Mormonism....a subject I'd rather avoid. We won't discuss the fact that Joe Smith was a mason and had a fascination with the occult. Nor will we discuss Joe's urging his followers that the U.S. Constitution needed to be replaced by a better system that (SUPRISE!) HE would be in charge of.
Gold plates handed down (temporarily) by Gabriel? BS flag on that one. I too can invent some fancy-dancy cryptic code and then pronounce to anyone 'Hey, I'm the only one who can read this, follow me and oh, give your women up to me and we'll find our utopia with ME at the top' Too convenient. I'm not impressed.
Finally, we won't address what the former Mormons had to say about the ideology. They're the brave ones.
And many Christians will also tell you that success and prosperity are gifts from God, as will many other religions. Personally, I don't see a difference, nor do I consider such a belief to be anything to worry about.
No, Christians believe that talents are gifts from God. What you do with them are your own doing. God does not give anyone success nor prosperity. Those you have to earn on your own.

I don't see an issue here. This just sounds like nonsense fear-mongering.
