I highly recommend this book for those all concerned (and we all should be) about Common Core and what it does to the minds of children. It has many different wonderful sounding names, but they all mean to make followers and non independent thinkers who will not know the importance of liberty or that being free individuals is our right. Everything is based around group think and "global sustainability".
It is backed by the government, the UN, and many large crony corporations who fund much of it. (The Gates, IBM....) Frightening stuff that we need to know. Pay attention to your schools, please. Your kids' minds are at stake... better yet...home school if at all possible.

Intellectually, I oppose the above, as I have all my life.
Pragmatically, as "... a man who claims to think for himself...", I would never recommend condemning your children to life as a non-conformist. A real non-conformist who insists on thinking for himself, not a non-conformist who bends knee at every PC "non-conformity" the media/left put out.
To make such out of your children is to condemn them to a lonely life on the fringe of society, belittled and disdained by all, often confused, always frustrated.
Don't do that to your kids, if you love them.
