"Elections should be held on April 16th - the day after we pay our income taxes. That is one of the few things that might discourage politicians from being big spenders." - Thomas Sowell

No. unless it's the pop name for when the government settles it's bankruptcy by inflation, devaluation and debt repudiation by making our retirement buying power worth 30% less. Actually they hit all tax payers and non taxpayers alike but the retirees have little time left to recover from being the main target.

One other question to ponder since the government caused the whole thing how come it wasn't included in the COLA? Well that's rhetorical they don' t want to undo the harm they caused to cover up the amount they wasted buying your vote.

Inflation Tax is the price you pay for voting Democrat or Republican.....

Another name for it The Cycle or Circle of Economic Repression.

In any case taxes are the fine you pay for being successful and fines are the taxes you pay for getting caught.

Since almost 50% of the country pays no income tax, I doubt that it would matter.

Compromise between Democrat politicians and Republican politicans means that the pet projects of both get funded, and then those recipients of the pet project money donate money back to the political war chests of those same politicians. How do we incentivize politicians to act in the interest of lower spending? The incentives are clearly not in our favor.
