Interesting chart, one has to wonder about what constitutes "candidate committee money", but I have no doubt the Beasts money is from every country on earth who wants something. Bernie, for a communist, is actually an honest communist. Ted Cruz is the Republicrat answer the the Beast, with Kasich crawling behind. Trump does pretty darn good for what he has spent, or gotten or whatever. The Libertarians look like they should be on street corners with signs. One reason maybe to vote for Johnson....

Indeed. That is what it is, but is reflective of the whole "whats in it for me" framework.

Iowa is all about ripping off the country selling moonshine as fuel using government subsidies to pay the bill and with most of the money going to giant agricorps and fuel producing companies ...oh yes and the automobile industry to pay for the burned out engines.

Iowa is a classic example of screw your neighbor.

I do not know how he gave Kasisch 750K for Colorado. Funny he isn't on there either, but Fiorina, Carson (who had none) were. Jebby boy was like a Nova, and he has more strands than the Beast, which really shows how money cannot overcome outstanding stupidity.

I agree is very bad. But there is so much money at stake now that it's hard to believe the vested interests will even give up willingly

A premise that has stood the test of time, however, was well neutered by follow on laws, just to make sure.

The real "solution" was the Articles of Confederation. Central government with so little power that the national election is not important. Its the local elections that should matter most.

Nasty part: you cannot even follow the money, go look at the donor chart and zoom in, and see how many donors cover all the bases. Where is this money cming from? I am betting the banks have created black accounts, and have funneled a lot of the Fed money no one has any idea was floating around to make the economy look good, into. It is being dispersed to make sure the "right" people get elected.

Or: strictly limit what government can fund. require public access to all contracts, with summary form available to avoid getting buried in crap like they did with Obama Care.

The chart I linked below says it all, look (you do have to zoom to get all the connections) at the lines between donars and money, many donate to all available in the hopes of covering their bets. This should be proof alone, that this is not "free speech" but "buying influence" and NOT what SCOTUS said it was. They just legitimized political whoring. I really like that term now, it's so apt.

It would be nice to graph it all so people can see just how crazy and corrupt this has all become. You cannot conclude anything but they have created a "I can whore better than you" contest.

Should add total $$ spent to elect the 'winners' of the past five or ten Prez Elections (in current dollars.)

The Libertarian Party nominee will be on the ballot in 49 or 50 states in November. The nominee will be chosen at the LP Convention in Orlando the last week in May. There are a dozen or so declared candidates but it seems to be narrowing to three favorites with Johnson the odds on favorite but some buzz around McAfee. Check LP.org for more info if you are interested.

I like the money graphs. It is always said how the Republicans have all the money and can spend their way into office, and yet, which party raises the most money by far? Those poor Democrats.

While we maintain the façade of a two party system, the truth is that we are actually a one party system with two factions. Except for the timing, Jefferson was right.

Exactly. And the current culture is not ready yet to appreciate or accept libertarian or objectivist thinking. An objectivist wouldn't want to be president now and he would never be elected anyway.
We would have to first amend the constitution such that government is forbidden from taking from one and giving to another. The president would then be an administrator and campaign contributions to get political favors would dry up along with lobbyists

When I voted during the primary, I signed a petition carried by a dude out in the parking lot to let the Libertarian Party participate in the general election.
I as yet know if I'll have the Johnson option when I return to that building.
I'd like to have that freaking choice!

I think the two parties are obsolete in the Internet age. They are just marketing groups trying to manipulate people into throwing votes to them so they can take from the other side and give to themselves
