NSA can already turn your phone's camera and audio on without your knowledge, the cops will soon do the same. Now you're just asking the citizens to do the same against other citizens. You don't need an automatic transmitting system to record this kind of stuff as is evidenced by all the police abuse videos.| Permalink

- 2Posted by khalling 12 years, 5 months ago in reply to this comment.it is not. already phones have been successfully used to point out police brutality among other misuses of authority. what would be 1984 is the police exercising some "right"to know what phones were in the area around the time a crime was committed and contacting the owners either to check for evidence or locate a suspect.| Permalink

- 2Posted by $ rockymountainpirate 12 years, 5 months ago in reply to this comment.I totally agree. If I'm on a public street I don't have an expectation of privacy. I have mixed feelings on this type of tech. I'd like to have had a cops there faster when I needed one, although they were quick and I had no idea that I could leap stairs 3 or 4 at a time, and maybe they could have caught him. If I had won the tug of war over his gun I'd have blown his assets away and that would also have been a good result.| Permalink
- 1Posted by LetsShrug 12 years, 5 months agoVideo might be good for capturing a criminal in action to prove they were the perpetrator, but if I'm the victim of his crime is my phone the first thing I should go for? Am I missing something?| Permalink
