Shadow Government Statistics is going with a 90% chance of Hyperinflation starting in second half of 2014.

I think China could make a bold move to realign trade around the Yuan. But it must move quickly. Ever see the movie "Rollover (1981)"?

It seems that we are heading more toward fascism: censorship, secret police, government regimentation of industry and finance, with citizens being completely subordinate to governmental whims. Of course we are more and more communistic in the sharing of the wealth programs that are in place (even though in truth it should work more like a commune rather than a sweat shop for those of us still earning) and the so called public ownership of lands and goods . Of course there is the trend of this administration to inject socialism into our industry by demeaning, vilifying and negating capitalism. So is the endgame a progression of: socialism>communism>fascism>and finally a dictatorship being touted as 'one-world-order'?

She does not have the power that Mao had, plus the inconvenience of having to run in the "elections." But she does have the power and she does use it to indirectly destroy the lives of millions.

As was explored in Atlas Shrugged, if you do something "for the public good" you are doing it to benefit yourself. The prophets of public good are ALWAYS the first hogs to feed at the public trough.

Show me a person who only works for the "public good" and I'll show you a person who is a government employee or benefactor. If they are not attempting to cushion their own bed with dollars taken from producers at the point of a gun, they are building a power base that will remove more from a producer than a single "hog" could ever eat in it's lifetime.

Public good always takes from producers to give "some" to non-producers - the balance will be absorbed in administrative costs (ie. feeding the workers of public good").

She saw the essence of history viz. the individual's relationship to the group. The group has never stopped trying to take what the individual has and the individual has never stopped trying to keep what is his.

There is no difference between Sen. Feinstein of California and Mao of China.

Sorry but no. I haven't see her call for killing off tens of millions of fellow citizens directly. So this is a rather gross overstatement as bad as she is.

Socialism is only suicide for those that embrace it. It is still murder to those that don't.

Since Ms. Rand's death things have changed somewhat. I think it might be more appropriate today to say that both are by murder, since the vote is being overridden by the use of gimmicks such as executive orders, and hidden agendas by burying outrageous rules within 2,000 page laws.

"The term 'Communism' signifies just the same as 'Socialism.' The use of these two words has repeatedly changed during the past decades, but always the question that separated socialists from communists was only a matter of political tactics. Both aim to socialize the means of production."

~ Ludwig von Mises, "Socialism: An Economic and Sociological Analysis,"
Chapter 2: Socialism, Section 1: The State and Economic Activity, page 45 or 56 (page numbers vary depending on the edition)

Interesting, very. I've been mulling over having something like the following put on a bumper sticker: "Hitler was socialist. Pol Pot was communist. No thanks."
