The rule of law is in place so crony govt pet agencies, BLM in particular here, cannot just swoop in and do what they please through intimidation. The line is drawn in the sand. I think Texas will win.

Orangevale and Folsom CAL. Wild Sports is well stocked, the Ammo Dept., too, Big 5 has stock. I have over 4,100 .22 LR in inventory. I reload the big stuff like .45 Colt and .44 Magnum. Maybe I could get you some?

Well, I've always had others, but that gets expensive rather quickly. A buck a clip for .22 vs. $10 for a clip of .45 adds up fast.

There is some that comes in at the Dicks near me, but it gets grabbed up pretty quickly. So I've picked up some things that don't require .22.

Lol! I once saw two girls in a car that was in front of me on the highway. Their hair was so big that it touched in the middle, and there was no visibility from my perspective, through the front windshield!

Where would that be? The Midwest (at least WI and MN) barely get any at all. On a recent business trip, I checked every Walmart, Farm&Fleet, Dicks, and even Cabelas along a stretch of I94 about 350 miles and nobody had any. I check my local stores every week and if they do get any, it's one case, and that sells out in about an hour (even with a 3 box limit).

Water is the most valuable commodity in the west, or at least the rights to it. If you don't have the rights to the water your land is worthless.

This reminds me of the fact that the first thing that William the Conqueror did when he beat the Saxons was declare that all of the land in England belonged to the Crown by default. The national ownership of all land seems to be a common theme in trying to take control of a country. One of the reasons that William did this is that it enabled him to then hand out major parcels to the people who supported him.

It is disheartening to see the profoundly corrosive changes. I still like the north fork of LI, but getting there is a bear. My in laws still live there, when they aren't down in Naples, FL for the winter. Glad you have such good memories to carry with you. Use them as a means to further your teachings to your son. It'll sink in.
On another note, I don't understand how people can think the way they do, that because they train like military, that it makes them some sort of untouchable authority over me. It's unacceptable. I do not recognize that sort of "law". It is against every single principle this sovereign nation was founded upon! Intimidation, force used against people exercising their free will!?! A dictator is running things and clearly needs to be stopped. The how of it, though, requires backbone, which is sorely lacking in Congress, or in most other elected patsies in office.

Could this possibly have anything to do, behind the scenes, with water? I know the epa has plans to control every single bit of water in the states, be it a pond on your personal property or the Mississippi River. I notice this property is along the Red River. Glad to see Texas has a lot of reps with backbones. May have to go live there. In the northern half.

And every one of them are united in a unholy alignment called "Homeland Security". All that is needed is a change of "department" patches and shirts and they are all HS and answer to one man - POTUS.

Every Federal agency now has armed personnel and SWAT training, even including the Dept of Education, Social Security, and Dept of Fisheries.

And they wonder why so many of us are armed?? As for Congress, it doesn't seem that any of them really care much what Congress does or doesn't do.

I grew up on a half acre of land in Shirley NY. The house was in my family for 50 years before I was raised there. It was a series of great memories from a much better time to be an American. Its disheartening that my kids have never experienced the freedom I did growing up. My only hope is that some semblance of that "American culture" can be recovered though my Conservative efforts (as an example, writing and otherwise).

Please don't laugh... or take offense... but the 2 times I was on LI, I remember seeing a hoarde of guys in the process of lawn manicuring... ergo I always remember it as Lawn Guy Land. Pretty area, tho, and had my plans on working for the Port Authority happened, I'd likely be living there... tho now I wouldn't trade the Forge for anything!
