I don't want to go back in and find it, but the way it was worded almost read that one wanted to be "viewed" as successful. For instance, who would say they wanted to FAIL at their job or career? I might have been reading into it. I used to do that ALL the time on tests. lol

I agree that that question is very pertinent here in the Gulch. Isn't the point of Objectivism to act in your own self-interest? Wouldn't that mean striving to be successful in your chosen career? And didn't Dagny say outright "I expect to make piles of money with the JG Line, and I will have earned it? Now, I temper that with "being happy", because if you're making piles of money in a soulless job that you hate, you're not serving your highest self-interest.

oh, I'm takin you on. CONTACT GOVT OFFICIALS. inter-racial marriage. whatever. seriously. get beyond skin color and on to merit. the rest we agree about. I paused, at the inter-racial marriage question-but then saw "society" and realized we were speaking progressive language. I am not religious. i probably would text, but I've galted, so texting is a more expensive avenue outside the US if you have US cell service which I need to do business

    Ya got me. My answers:
    No TV
No newpapers (I get my news online)
    no video games
    Cell only
    I text a little
Think success is important but not the most (gotta be happy too!)
Think interracial marriage is a good thing
Have not contacted a government official (they don't listen anyway)
    Have a FB page
being VERY religious is not important
    Parents still married (62 years)
    No piercings
    No tats
    Conservative
It must be the social-media stuff that boosted my score.

whoa. thanks for sharin. when i went back in and checked each answer the question weighted the highest was the one about successful in your career. I felt the wording of that question was dubious. so many factors. my first pass was not at all important, when I went back a second time and upped it, my score changed significantly. I would question those in here on their answer to that question. we should debate it. it's the crux and has absolutely nothing to do with millennium, thank you very much

I scored a 60. It must be I only have a cell phone and I watched more than an hour of news because I have no tats, and my parents were married.

    :)
No piercings except my earlobes, no tats except an occasional temporary one. Thought about it a lot, but the idea of being an 80yo lady with a flower fairy on my flabby boob just didn't make the cut. :)

Actually, I feel like I am pretty much a 'rebel WITH a cause', and assumed that my score of "1" was proof! Nowhere does the quiz make any judgements about the results....

I love TV for movies, and season shows like Falling Skies. I read newspapers on-line. I only have a cell phone for calling road service. I took the texting question as being what I witness people doing around me on their phones, not what I am doing here. Etc.

You have to be curious as to how John Galt would have scored?

you scored 1. seriously, you must be a zombie. you watch no TV, read no papers, don't have divorced parents.....zombie
lol. I did not like the structure of the survey. it was mixing marketing with philosophical bent. wrong and fail. I question the weighting of the outcomes. with prejudice
