The problem is without a huge crowd her grandstanding wont make headlines, without the graduation attendees she would have to work harder to draw her own crowd.

Is it just me, or do the Democrats seem especially focused on Kansas this year? They are putting a lot of money into the races there and now this.

The biggest problem people have with Michelle Obama is that her visit will take up too many seats? I can think of many more reasons not to want her there.

When I graduated from high school we went to Disneyland, not to some boring speech by an inane politician. Of course that speech might be the opening salvo in her run for prez.

Maybe if they promise her one of her mandated school lunches she will decline the invitation.

I can see the kids (and parents) point... She's using the graduation for political purpose, and that's just wrong. And considering it will turn the graduation into a media circus for her propoganda, and cut the kids out of their own chance to shine, well... its just wrong. She wants to grandstand, then go to the Brown Site (a few blocks away) and have a political grandstand event, DO NOT steal the kids thunder for 12 hard years of work.

Of course, to the politicos, the kids and all their hard work are property of the Imperial Federal People's Monarchy, so the first lady SHOULD be there to tkae credit for that 12 year period of the kids education... why should the kids get the praise, when they need that final lesson in Marxism... it's the manager of the COLLECTIVE that deserves praise for ALL the people...

I would be thrilled if Michelle Obama came to my kids' school. But it looks like the students have a valid point about fewer seats being available. I think my kids are trouble at 3 and 5 but we will struggle hard if they do something like organize a petition against someone like Michelle Obama visiting their school. It's a free country, though, so it really wouldn't be "trouble", just something I disagree with.
