Lol. Oh no! Trump written in chalk on a college campus! Time for a protest! Hey, be tolerant and don't forget your inclusiveness! Unbelievable. These people will absolutely have a total mental shutdown when the fertilizer really hits the fan.

What is this "cry for a safe space" schlock? What is that supposed to mean? I'm sorry... you want a safe space, go back home to mommy and put your diaper back on, I'm sure she has a nice playpen for you. You want to stay in COLLEGE, then you oughta learn you're not a 3 year old any more, and best grow up some. Right quick.

Sorry Susanne, but the little programming centers are full of the "safe space" crap. It is everywhere, unless you are special ed, then you can be a crazy as you want because the school (at least in crazy Oregon) gets double money for the little brats, so they will not touch the golden goose. If you are a normal (sic) kid, you have to learn to be nice, kind, use no bad words, and always offer people a safe space to exist. I have heard this over and over, and no one ever was able to explain what they expected to happen when these little monsters left school and had to exist in the real "unsafe" world. I was branded a "bad person" by the former State Senator Superintendent at 135,000 a year/Principle dude who asked me not to come back to the board meetings....

it's disturbing how wide spread this psychosis is at college campuses. It is one of the reasons I no longer teach. These students are unteachable.

It isn't even education anymore, it is programming. This is what happens when a system goes closed loop, teachers teach children who go to school to become teachers and then teach more teachers. No reality, fantasy anyway you want it. I have always believed teaching should be reserved to 50 and over, post mainstream career as a sideline job. That way you actually inject some real experience into the task, instead of this pseudo-psycho babble BS. It never occurred to the little morons to piss on it and make a counter statement, as well as erase the offensive words?

Just reading the title of Uncommon's post caused me to enjoy a laugh that lasted about 10 seconds.
I'm still off and on laughing at it.
Mommy needs to come visit college in order to wipe the noses of these poor tender little babies.

While I think this is a ridiculous reaction on the part of the students, part of the reason for it is availability of communication technology. Most of these are young people with little experience in the real world. Imagine when you were young how many impulses you felt that were frustrated by the fact that you were alone in your feelings. Would you have acted on them if it was easy to gather a group of other inexperienced, attention-seeking people to create a demonstration?
Yes, the propaganda machine within public education is partly at fault for the lack of reasoning of these kids. Yes, the media loves to stir the pot of political correctness and statistism.
There are forces that are manipulating these inexperienced young people. Without the wisdom gained by real life (as opposed to life as portrayed by television) they are easy targets. No one has taught them to think and the business of education is purposely failing them.

What strikes me is that if this is their biggest concern given everything else going on in the world then these students are beyond clueless, They qualify as useful idiots in the purest form. Good luck to them after they graduate (if they are not paralyzed by fear) in finding employment. There aren't ANY safe-places in the world although Gitmo in Cuba might qualify.

    Awww. Poor babies.
Gee, I wonder how they'd react if they were cops being shot at, or front line marines. I guess you'd need a clean-up crew. Not for the blood, but for the poop.

I can't wait to order large fries from these intellectual powerhouses. Hahaha, just kidding. McDonald's wouldn't hire them. They'd have to be able to do stuff. But it would be fun to order a Whopper at McD's and watch them crumble.

I'm wondering if they are drama students and they are stuck in 'stage mode' even when off the stage? No wonder we now have so many paid stooges among town gatherings, political ralley's, etc. For more information: http://libertyblitzkrieg.com/2013/08/...

Yes, this country is in serious trouble. And now for the lingering, unanswerable question: where can I go where sanity is still valued?

I have a daughter in the theater dept. at her school and they tend to have the same reaction to these things as we do here. But this is in Texas (ant not in Austin) so I understand things might be a bit different here. ;)

The most fragile hot house orchid does not get to dictate the political atmosphere that allows them to "feel" safe when it creates a corrosive atmosphere for the other freedom loving plants on the campus - I.e. The hearty sort that attend Emory specifically so they can survive and thrive when they leave the bio bubble that is college life.
BTW I can tell you that as an attorney in the "real world" political speech is the most highly protected form of speech under the constitution. Those who would seek to undermine free political thought are indeed dangerous and make me feel more than a little uncomfortable and threatened for my freedom and liberty, where is my safe space and free counseling!

Not sure why they are fussing, most college students should relate to using sidewalk chalk. (and play doe, marbles, finger paint and Daddy's credit card)
"A" students teach the "B" students to work for the "C" students. Then teach that the "C" students are evil and greedy for enslaving those very same "B" students.

I am voting for Trump because he tells it like it is, speaks his mind, and is going to shake things up in Washington and stick up for us citizens. Hillary will stick up for her supporters (wall street). Cruz is some religious zealot that the other senators hate. He will go no where as a president, and will get no respect from foreign countries.
