But that's the heart of it. No competition leads to stagnation.

I like the comparison.

Single payer would be about as successful as single currency is in Europe. Good for the insiders, the elite and powerful, and bad for everyone else. But elimination of competition is what elites always want, and it's the antithesis of the free market that automatically gives incentives to advancements and inventions by creative genius.

It is a success to Obama. Its destroying the health care system leading to single payer.
