As a college freshman living in a dorm in the South and about to enter a tough engineering school in 1960, I had the following posted above the desk in my cubby hole:
"All things cometh to he who waiteth, if he worketh like hell while he waiteth." Best advice I ever gave myself.

Noooo nononononooo don't mention them on my post! There's more to prosperity than money... these are examples of two people with stunted principles. (Plus they haven't lived 'long' yet...and that 'prosperity' probably won't last.)

I was just finishing the statement "or you don't live long ... or prosper!"' -- and you're right; it takes a Lady Gaga or a Justin Bieber to prove your rule by exception!

Learning doesn't guarantee prosperity, but not learning, with very few exceptions, nearly always guarantees poverty.

I don't know. I just ran across it in my picture file. I think I posted it before. I stole it from somewhere or my husband emailed it to me. Can't remember.

I've never understood complaining about your pay... we, as grown ups, AGREE to take jobs knowing full well what the pay IS. I'm so tired of people removing personal responsibility from the outcome of their own decisions. Everything is someone elses fault...somehow.

    Crude, rude, and utterly true.
I have figuratively slapped your figurative hand, being as I am a teacher, and stifled my smile accordingly.

    (Keep posting, everyone.)

My only problem is that there are so many things that I want to do to earn money and so little time. Maybe things will slow down a bit soon and I can work a few more things in.

I have this discussion with a couple friends of mine who continually lament their underpaying jobs. If you want to work, there's work to be done and money to be made. It aint easy, no doubt. But, it's there.

What I have posted next to the classroom clock is "you live and learn...well you live for sure but the learning is up to You"
Maybe I should update it to something more cutting edge.
