Oh, they definitely like to be able to control people. Most everyone in the power elite has baggage that can be used to keep them in line. Whether personal or votes, that's the name of the game. Those that either are immune to the control - either don't have the skeletons or just don't care about them, are few and far between.

I don't see it that way. More that they want to keep it a slightly less crony, crony-capitalist club. Most of the interesting people of color or gender tend not to fall into that credo - Cain, West, Jindahl, Keyes, Watts, Palin, Bachman, just to name a few.

A little light on foreign policy, but that could be shored up with a good VP and Sec of State. I like him as well. I thought his 9-9-9 plan had some merit - at least he was proposing something other than more Fed stimulus.

1) Act 10 is the legislation that he crafted that reduced gov't union to only negotiating on wages (there are exceptions, but most unions fall under this, most especially the teachers unions).
2) He waged a "war" with the WI senate when 14 D senators fled the state to IL in order to prevent a quorum so that the vote on Act 10 could not be passed. Eventually, they had to return to WI and it passed in any case. They won nothing and merely looked foolish.
3) He successfully beat back a recall election with a higher vote total and higher margin than his original election, even before the benefits of Act 10 had been fully realized.
4) Act 10 has allowed the state, and local school districts, to turn budget deficits into surpluses. At the state level this surplus is being returned to the taxpayers and many school districts were able to at least not increase tax levies and some, like mine, actually reduced the school tax levy.
5) WI is attracting businesses from other states, particularly IL. While not a tax haven, yet, the positive business environment is encouraging business.
6) Gov. Walker has floated a proposal to eliminate the state income tax to further enhance the business climate. If done, we would be the only state in the northern Midwest to be income tax free.
7) Gov. Walker successfully prevented the state from accepting the additional Medicaid money that would have ensnared us in the increased costs that will be coming down the line in the future.
8) The only thing stopping more extensive reforms is one "R" who typically votes with the D's and a slim majority in the state senate. That is likely to change in the fall. When it does, look for the elimination of the income tax and other reforms that will lead the way in transforming a Looter/Moocher state to a Producer once more.

Also, he'll be slapped down as an "uncle Tom" or other type of lapdog for "whitey" as they do any black conservative.

Although a military officer is a good leadership background, I would prefer somebody who has actual political management experience. I'm partial to governors, as they have had to lead in contentious situations. Having seen him "up close," I'm particularly impressed with Scott Walker. I'd go for Rand Paul for Sec of Treas, West for Sec of Def, Lee for Att Gen.

Well, that's certainly in his favor. I don't take people only for what they say, too many espouse good words, but then don't follow through. Col West seemed to follow through during his short term in congress.

Agreed on Col West.

And let's hope that we can get them additional support this Nov!
