My gasket would have been incinerated over this had it happened in one of my kids schools. The teachers, the principal, the district managers, and everyone up the chain within my state would cringe at the sound of my voice.

Yeah, at least we don't have to shelter soldiers when they come to lock us down. They'll just make it that we are imprisoned in our own homes?

I taught my kids the Constitution, including the Bill of Rights to be best of my ability. I have done so since they could comprehend what I was saying. Further, I have hammered home, just today as a matter of fact, what inalienable means and why it is important to the American people and was important to our Forefathers. Should I have had to? No, but it wasn't being done by anyone else. My exposure to Common Core has been limited here in Arizona but the lack of any semblance of civics, accurate history, or encouraging success in kids makes this and other article very possible.
btw I have received 4 phone calls conducting surveys for Common Core. I shot them all down and wrote my governor following each one.

You have no proof that this is "Common Core." I challenge you to goto the Common Core website and find such an assignment. Every complaint you have involving a public school, you lay on the same doorstep: Common Core.

Second, kids usually have "no prior education" in anything at all before they get education in that. So, starting here might not be the best choice for epistemological reasons, but you have to start somewhere.

We have had discussions here on this board about non-rights such as the trial by jury. The Bill of Rights served a purpose in its time but was never constructed objectively. Largely, it is a copy of the English Bill of Rights of 1689. Moreover, it was only recently because of judicial activism by progressives that the Federal Bill of Rights was incorporated (one by one and not yet completely) to the states. In the good old days states could and did torture people for confessions - and deny atheists the privilege of voting, serving on juries, or running for office. And gun registration is still local and state level, despite the Second Amendment (which is federal only).

So, maybe kids should learn to discuss rights. Yes, it would be better if _we_ did the teaching. Are you doing that? Or just complaining because someone else is not?

I hear what you're saying, however, check my earlier posting about the 50 Senators who oppose the treaty. Yep, only 50 Senators stand between us keeping our guns and the UN from taking them away. (Of course, this doesn't impact the criminal element).

    Hello iamfrankblanco,
It appears to me that the 9th and 10th have already been ignored and made irrelevant... sad.
    Respectfully,
    O.A.

Its not, its indoctrination and a method of deconstructing American society by dumbing down our children.
