I wonder if any one of those people at huff post even understand how much money UPS lost while these people walked out. In this putrid O-conomy UPS will have 2500 people lined up to take those 250 jobs.

"Local officials and union representatives have demanded that UPS rehire the workers and that the city revoke the millions in New York government contracts currently awarded to the company."

UPS also "receives millions of dollars every year in reduced fine and fees for parking tickets," according to NYC Public Advocate Letitia James, who will protest alongside the Teamsters at New York City Hall Thursday.

So the unions will sick the government on UPS for firing workers who weren't working. This is all about the union trying to push their weight around and UPS didn't put up with it. yuck

The bottom line is in the story adendum:
Management at the Maspeth facility, where employees worked, warned the employees as they were leaving that their jobs were at risk, the spokesperson said. The Teamsters did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

They were warned in advance that they could be fired for the action. They chose to continue. They were fired as warned.
Breaking a contract actually has consequences.

True, but notice how little mention that aspect of the controversy received. Also, the article never said why the initial union worker that caused the entire controversy was fired. Huff post...propaganda at it finest.

Notice "Huff" never bothered to say why the initial union guy was fired. Also note, "Huff" squeaked in the FACT that there was a no-strike clause in the agreement between the Teamsters and UPS.

LOL, this is so rich my stomach hurts from laughing.
