Does anyone in the Gulch know how to have an email signed by thousands and then sent to our reps in State and Federal Governments? I have composed an example of such an email as follows;
We the undersigned having read and studied and understood the content of the program known as Common Core have come to the conclusions that;
1) It is so destructive to the development of the reasoning abilities of the students; and
2) Its bias is so anti-common sense; and
3) It can only result in increasing the number of children who drop out or tune out and sour on all education;
It is, therefore, imperative that the States in which Common Core is being taught cease and desist immediately and Common Core be eliminated completely and permanently from our classrooms.

    Just remember to go after CC from many angles, as you want to leave them wondering from where and whom the objections will come next. The more outlets you use, the more success you will have.

    Thanks jlc, NMA had the same observation. I'm aiming to post an updated petition on Monday or Tuesday for review and comments.

    Yes and under this system, the U.S., from the 1700s through the early 1900s, had the greatest literacy and prosperity the world has ever seen.

    One of those non-signers - Dr. Sandra Stotsky - is going to be in the local area next week. I'm planning on going to listen to what she has to say and what her advice is on how to fight against this.

    The old one room school was the best. The teacher was a direct employee of the parents. And as such, was directly accountable to them.

    I agree. For me the perfect educational system would be one in which all children are either home-schooled or sent to privately owned, non-unionized, non-government regulated schools of the parents choice. And by a choice, I mean a school that fits the parents philosophy and purse.

    This assumes that they give a damn what the stupid, stupid plebes in the Country Class have to say.

    Now you understand! I have the biggest smile on my face right now. I've also been reading the comments everyone has been making on my posts, to my daughter who is living this nightmare. She can opt out of the test tomorrow, but I keep asking if she'll take it so I can find out what's in it, lol! I'm torn!

    Freakin' overwhelming NMA. It ought to be required viewing in the Gulch. It'll take me a day or two to revise and re-write.

    Watch the video KHalling put up about it. Jeb Bush is so in favor of it, I wonder what kind of kick backs he's getting for his endorsement.

    If you read over some of the petitions on change.org to repeal CC they have some pretty good arguments. Also, I would reference the teachers who are also standing up against CC and even quitting over it.
